If I could give 3 1/2 stars, would be appropriate. First, this is a historic inn that is in a great location, across the street from Hemingway House. A great jumping point for Key west attractions. The hotel is a group of old buildings that surround a lovely courtyard with a small pool. There is a bar there, that also serves light snacks, but only open until 6:00 p.m. Very charming. Plenty of tables with umbrellas for shade. Really a nice property. I found the room to be unimpressive and in need of a little cosmetic improvement. It was not large but decent size. A tile shower, no tub. Not really any storage for bathroom items as there was a pedestal sink with no counter. The room was clean and the bed was comfy but the appearance of the room was just OK in my book. Mini fridge was a plus. I was helped on arrival and check out by Jeremiah, who was outstanding. Check out was 11:00 and my flight not until 7:00p.m. He was very helpful in storing my luggage and offering use of the pool and towels.

Very clean, rooms are a little on the small side. Peter, the bartender was extremely accommodating. He even made my special drink, which was not on the menu. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable about the local area and gave directions to points of interest.

This is a tuff one. The location is great. Right across from the Hemingway House, one block from mid-Duval Street. First problem was to be informed that there was only 8 parking places for all guest and all were taken - solution pay for on street parking. Room was in desperate need of updating and overpriced for what we got. Must say that looking around other parts of the property had been upgraded. The person who made the booking for us said that the management showed them the upgraded portion of the property as the example. Sounds like a bait a switch? Be ware of this property and make sure you understand what you getting. Recommend asking to look at the room before you sign ad take the key.

Hello Neil,

We never attempt to claim that we have any on-site parking at the Lighthouse Court Hotel, and our confirmation e-mails further reiterate that guests will either park on the street or park in a paid lot. The heart of the island's historic district was built prior to the need for parking lots, so on-site parking lots are an exception rather than the rule down here. (That's why many of us who live here ride bikes instead!) One can generally find a free parking space within a five minute walk to the hotel.

We endeavored to keep everyone who was traveling with the wedding group you were with as close to each other as possible, so the reservationist certainly wasn't trying to "bait and switch" by any means. It's just nicer for everyone to be close to each other for getting together and mingling. We were delighted to have the bride & groom and all of their guests staying with us at this unique Historic Key West Inn.

LHC is such a unique place to stay. The really make you feel like part of the family. We had a great stay and our family that stayed said they loved their accommodations as well. We love the rooms in the cornhole area the best. Only downfall is plug availability for golf carts.
We are already thinking of our next trip!

Room Tip: ask for a room on the lower level and by the cornhole area. We didn't like the D rooms up over...

This guesthouse type hotel is in a great location. If you are looking for perfection, this is not your place. But if you want historic character, you will enjoy staying here. Ask for a room away from ground level at the pool. It is much like being in a fish bowl if you are In one of the rooms just off the pool.

When we initially checked in the room we were assigned was very small. We talked with Brian who worked with us and managed to put us in another room. A much better room. Thank you very much Brian you saved our vacation. It is a very quaint place to stay. It is very close to activities . Most are within walking distance. It across the street from Ernest hemingways house which is a museum. I would definitely go back here to stay. Jeremiah was also very helpful.

Room Tip: You will need to park In a very small lot and you leave the keys at the office. It worked for us be...

Despite booking for 3 guests--2 adults, 1 child--we were placed in a room with 1 bed without apology.

They did refund me for the second night after we found a more accommodating location and if you're a couple or traveling solo, the hotel is perfectly centrally located in historic key west

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, your reservation was made through Booking.com instead of through us directly, and the Booking.com confirmation was clearly for 2 people (not 2 + child or for 3 people) in a room with 1 King Bed, with a maximum occupancy of 2 guests. Whilst the Lighthouse Court Hotel does have some accommodations with 2 beds per room, they were all full on the dates of your stay, otherwise we would have been happy to move you. It's always best to make reservations directly through the hotel instead of through third parties in order to get personalized service and prevent frustrating errors such as this one that you experienced. Please feel free to call us on 1-800-549-4430 next time you plan on traveling to Key West, and we'll find the perfect room for the three of you to enjoy in comfort.
