Fantastic place perfectly located in Key West next to Duval Street. Close tio the southernmost point and the beach.
The staff is very helpful and arranged our booking for the Dry Tortuga trip as well as renting bikes.
This was the top notch stay of our three weeks Florida tour.
The pool area was excellent with free tea and coffee. ^
We would love to come back to this place. Lots of value for the money.

I haven't visited Key West and the Douglas House in almost a year and was so pleasantly surprised in the changes to the property...nothing major just little touches that made it even better.Ny room...and I always stay in the same suite and refer to it as ' MY ROOM"..has a fantastic new bed and linens, new linens, new drapes and new patio furniture! Wonderful!
The office staff was wonderful as usual. Another very pleasant surprise was the return of one of my favorites...Kevin! Really does make you feel like being home. I can't wait to get back there and will not wait a year.

Room Tip: no fitness center or room service but heated spa pool and towels pool side 24 hours made up for it.b...

*Nov. 2013 was the second time that I've stayed at Douglas House*

My partner and I stayed at the Douglas House initially in August 2013. We had such a wonderful time there that when we were looking to book a trip for Black Friday weekend, we decided it was contingent on if we could get a room at the Douglas House.

The staff is so nice. Friendly over the phone and friendly in person. They come across very genuine. We stayed in one of the suites for our November visit and it was perfect for us. Having the kitchen downstairs so that we could eat and not have food smells in the bedroom was a major plus. The mattresses in the room (we had two queen beds) were very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and spacious.

Location is D near perfect! You walk up the street and boom-- there is everything that you want to visit and explore. Duval St. is right there and you can walk nearly everywhere for entertainment. Douglas House is close enough to the action but far enough that you don't have to hear the sounds when you return from being out.

We come to Key West to drink, eat, and party. Douglas House is comfortable, clean, spacious, and friendly. Will definitely stay again :)

Been there 2 days in September (room # 14), and returned first week of December (room #12), the appreciation of this bed "without breakfast" might vary depending on the room occupied. Some are refurbished, some are still in progress. The staff is very nice and know everything about KW. Need a tips.....asked them. The layout is so perfect and so relaxing. It is right that it might need some soundproofing but if you pick room 14, you will be more than happy. But I'd preferred you won't 'cause I want it available when I will definitly return. Thank you all for the great stay you allowed me to have

Room Tip: Don't choose room 14. I want it just for me. Room 14 is a standalone bungallow. The bed is a...

The Douglas House is a nice bed and breakfast -- minus the breakfast, sadly (despite being listed on some "bed and breakfast" websites) -- just down from Duval Street. It is in walking distance to several shops and restaurants, and they do provide parking, though it is down the street. The room we stayed in was Sugar Palm #9. It was quite large, with two queen-sized beds in the bedroom part and a nice sitting area with a couch, chair, and TV. The bathroom was very large as well, and it even had a tall stool to use to sit and get ready to go. We had a large, outdoor, private sitting area with table and chairs just outside our door as well. The common garden area outside was very pretty and the pool was also a nice touch, with coffee and hot tea available pool-side all day and night. All-in-all, the facilities were very nice. HOWEVER, and this is a BIG however, we were not told our room was next to a room being renovated. We had LOUD construction noise well into the evening and it started up again the next morning before 9am. I'm talking hammering, drilling, and all kinds of banging that sounded like it was in the same room with us because I guess the walls are just that thin. Additionally, our private balcony was less than private because we had men coming back and forth constantly, sometimes even coming onto our porch with equipment. That wouldn't be quite as big of a deal except the doors are essentially just windows into the room. My husband and I were sitting outside enjoying coffee the morning we checked out, and rather than a nice private morning, we were constantly having to greet them as they all "good morning-ed" us as they walked past. Granted, that's good manners, but it kinda puts a damper on our ability to enjoy our morning before we left (it was the last day of our honeymoon before we headed back to COLD Tennessee, so we wanted to savor every moment). It would have been a very nice gesture for the house staff to let us know this was going to be the case when we booked, or at least when we checked in. Judging by the "vacancy" sign out of on the road, there were other rooms available that may have been quieter, but nothing was offered. In fact, nothing was mentioned at all. We discovered the situation on our own when we saw all kinds of equipment out and when we walked into the noise. But that wasn't the only noise to deal with....we were awakened around 4:30 or 5am by either a garbage truck or delivery truck to begin with. We can only assume it was doing laps around the block because we heard similar noise at least two more times over the next couple of hours. We also heard when the innkeeper arrived loud and clear, as he jingled the keys and then opened and closed the door. He wasn't really being loud, per se, but I guess the walls have little or no insulation, and the office is downstairs and just across a walkway from our room so we could hear essentially everything he did a little too clearly. We had been in the keys for a week staying in a rented house, and we decided to extend one night and stay at the Douglas House because the flight a day earlier was $200 more than staying an extra day -- might as well spend that money on a room rather than ending the trip early, right?? Well, it sounded like a good idea, but with the headaches from all the construction noise and the short night of sleep we got because of the traffic and other noise outside, I'm not sure it was worth it. One thing's for sure -- if you decide to stay here, bring really strong ear plugs. Your sleep and your sanity will depend on it.....

Room Tip: Ask to make sure there is not construction going on near your room. Also, I would highly recommend...

Clean and efficient. Staff very nice. Maintained well - nice and relaxing pool area. Outstanding location. Suite (#12) was like new - very well appointed.
We had to sleep on the pull out couch 2 nights because the person staying above us was snoring! Need some type of soundproofing.
