“Great stay!”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

I'm glad we stayed in the location. Just off of Duval Street but at the quiet end. Easily within reach of everything in old town key west without all the noise at the other end. Fantastic location! The posturepedic beds were very welcomed and comfortable. The rooms were small in comparison to other resorts but definitely cozy and were never lacking for space with just the two of us. The pool area was great with towels always available by the pool area. I would stay in this location again.

We stayed at the Douglas House from May 29-31 and stayed in the Royal Palm room. The location just steps from the quieter end of Duval was perfect for us, as we were not there to party all night but just to see the sights. The room we stayed in was great with an excellent patio that was very private. It must have been recently renovated as everything in the room was immaculate. A nice pool area to lounge around and the place was quiet in the evening. It would be nice if they served a continental breakfast for their guests. This would have changed my rating to an excellent one.

Stayed here many times and always a great time. Chris from the staff was absolutely wonderful! He was very helpful and accommodating. Close enough to everything but far enough away at night. Highly recommend it here. Talk to Chris about anything you need and he'll do his best to arrange it for you!

Our room was a small downstairs room it was ok for our 3 day stay, wouldnt want to stay in that room for longer than that, and I think by standards a little overpriced . Some of the room fixtures lamps etc tired and worn room was clean but in need of a revamp. Problem of having a downstairs room is that we had people above us walking around like elephants at 7.00 am in the morning. The reception I think it was Chris (from Bulgaria) was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is near enough to the beach and bars. Pool area nice clean and comfortable

I was referred to the Douglas House by a friend and am very happy for it. From the moment you arrive, the staff welcomes you and makes you feel at home.

I had room 13, which is a king on a second floor, but the entire entry and stairs are part of the room, kind of a loft type accommodation. There is a seating area and bedroom. The king-sized bed was amazingly comfortable. The bath was modern and my only concern about it was that the designer seems to have forgotten the soap holder in the shower...

AC worked well.

It was nice to just linger by the pool and sip on reasonably priced beverages from the office. This is certainly not the resort environment of the Hyatt or Westin, but if you want a quiet little place to get away from everything, yet be within steps of the fun of Duval Street, this is the place for you. The hotel seems to cater to couples and singles and there are no kids to be seen. This is always a plus in my accommodation selection.

I will definitely be back to the Douglas House on my future visits to Key West.

The outside was cute. We couldn't change the channel on the tv so we were stuck with one channel. There was a remote for the window air conditioner with corroded batteries in it, it did not work and it wasn't strong enough to cool the bedroom and bathroom so the bathroom was unbearable! you have to park a block away. My husband sat on the bed and thought it was a waterbed because it was very bouncy, the porch light flickered so it was useless. It was clean and neat. We did not use the pool or bar.

Na amazing place. Very beautifull and spacious room. It was possible to live there. (lol)
The guy in the frontdesk, called Cristiano, was very friendly and gave us good tips of beaches and places to have a beer. He also offered a glass of whine while we were at the pool.
The location is the highlight. It is very close from the Duval Street, where there are a lot of stores and restaurants.
