It was a wonderful - too short - stay in this little hidden Paradise. The place is very clean (room - pool area). The room we were in was fully equipped (kitchen - 2 beds 2 baths) and very clean.
The staff is very nice and you can find any information a the front desk if you are just paying attention and asking for the right question. People who complained about this place had no idea where they came and accuses people and place not to offer what they were expecting - probably because they have no idea what they were expecting.
We will be back at the Douglas House FOR SURE!!!!

Absolutely perfect. Great location, and our room was clean & comfortable. The staff was very accommodating & friendly. After we returned home, I realized that I forgot a few personal items in our room. A week later, I called Kim & Chris at the front desk, and they had my items. I mailed them a prepaid envelope, and they returned my items promptly. Top notch friendly service. My wife & I will definitely stay at the Douglas House when we return to key West. Thanks again to Chris & Kim !

A little hidden gem. With it's garden sitting area and pool, made me feel welcome. The room was clean and very roomy. Just a few steps from Duval St. Less then 20 minuets walking time to any of the sites in the area.

Perfect location perfect room. First after booking the Douglas house they called to find out if we needed anything and that was two months in advance. After arrival Chris was so good showed us the surround property, serviced us a glass of wine showed us our room immediately started calling around to find an excursion for my wife and I for the following day. Not truly sure why the negative reviews from some travelers. This place is outstanding.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Key West. Right off Duval St near the Southernmost Point with quality restaurants around the corner. Do your self the favor and rent a scooter during your trip. It saves miles on your shoes and is a hoot to drive! The hotel has a small pool in a lovely grotto. The staff is friendly and helpful. STAY at the Douglas House and have a wonderful time. They have several different types of rooms including apartment style with a small kitchen, which is where we stayed.

Room Tip: Call and ask what accommodations are available as they have several types.

The room was spacious and the location, on the quiet side of Duval, is perfect. Registration requires multiple signatures due to "bad experiences" with previous clients according to the person checking us in.

BAD This is not a hotel to arrive with many heavy suitcases. The parking is a couple of blocks away and there is little help to get them to the room. Our phone did not work and despite reporting it, it never got repaired. Air conditioning was aimed at the bed and the bathroom had several functional flaws such as no soap dish in the shower and the toilet roll far away on the opposite wall.

GOOD Nice small pool. Mostly friendly staff.

Room Tip: Some rooms do not have good wifi. Ask about this.

Hotel and stay: Great location. Quiet part of Duval. Extremely comfortable bed. Nice pool. You can take your drink to the pool or buy a drink from the front office. Towels, coffee and tea are all provided in the pool area for free. Room was clean. Grounds were very nice with great landscaping. Accommodations-wise, it's a no brainer.

Customer service: If you do not care about customer service, don't hesitate to book. If you do, read on. I booked three rooms for seven adults (not college-student-adults, adults). The staff called to confirm our reservation and said that they do not host groups (because we rented three rooms) and if we wanted to cancel they would not charge us the cancelation fee. They said that we would all be at the pool at the same time and would crowd it. I had already paid the deposit on all three rooms at this point. Fast forward to us arriving. I had to sign a form with about 10 rules with financial consequences attached to breaking them. I asked for a copy of the rules. This was all done with attitude. I was informed we lost a key I would be charged a hefty fee. We had three bags, but were told to park in temporary parking to bring our bags in and then move the car to the parking. We said we didn't have a lot of bags and would like ensure a parking spot. He then INSISTED that we temporarily park. It was not in a pleasant tone and by the time we temporarily parked we were then told our room wasn't ready. Our room was later ready and the rest of the stay was without problem. There was another man who worked there who we met the next day. Thankfully he was awesome and we only interacted with him after, he was friendly and offered to help book any excursion we wanted. We received no kindness from the other employees.

Room Tip: Room 7 was small (the least expensive) and had a very soft, amazing bed.
