We've been in Key West 10 times and found Michaels for the first time. How could we have not known about this restaurant? I googled fine dining restaurants instead of the usual casual (and good) KW restaurants. Michaels popped up and great reviews (but, there is always a couple naysayers). It's close to Duval but, about a four block walk (due North). It's on a side street of Southard on Margaret. It is a classy looking restaurant with outdoor seating as well as, inside air-conditioned. The attire is dressy casual, which means no shorts or jeans, although we saw them, too. Not nice for this restaurant. A very ample menu with a large variety of different foods. All the way from seafood, steaks, chicken, pasta and even meatloaf. The full bar area had a great selection of different and high end liquors. The wine selection was great, too. One thing that was really neat is that they also had a smaller appetite menu, with a great selection. We opted for that section. The caesar salad was delish! We shared a key lime pie for dessert, made in the Key West style. They don't advertise a lot, and don't have to. It's a word of mouth restaurant and by the time we left most tables were full. A super restaurant for a special and delicious dinner. Michael is the owner/chef/creator. He has surely created a peaceful, romantic and delicious restaurant!
