This is the best place to stay in Key West. Beautiful rooms, smiley staff and congenial owner, nice breakfast buffet, open bar happy hour each evening, and a great location... just off of Duval St, but away from the craziness

We stayed at the Duvall for one night and can't say enough about the Inn. Good location, great room, comfortable bed, happy hour and breakfast. The staff was very friendly. We feel part of the Key West experience while staying here. We are a 10 minute walk from the boardwalk water area. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend all friends to stay here as well.

The second I have arrived at duval inn I was amazed! The plants, the pool, the tiki bar everything is on point. Looks amazing and very clean. Lots of cute tables and chairs between the garden flowers and trees. Beautiful avocado tree above the pool. Looks like your in a small villa somewhere in south east Asia. The rooms look just like a guest room in a beautiful white beach house. I definitely recommend this to couples and groups of people even older couples as well. It's great location !!! Breakfast was okay nothing too special but goes on until almost noon.

The attitude of the staff was rude and condescending. While the house has been restored well, the charm of the Inn stops there. They mention that they offer parking right next door to the Inn, but fail to mention ahead of time that there is a $10 per night charge for it. As far as ther claim of paying attention to every detail - Ha!!! The fan in our room did not work right - it made a horrible scraping noise when it was on, and when we mentioned it to the staff their comment was "Well, we live in a mechanical world and cannot expect everything to work right all the time." Half of the lights in the room did not work either. There was also a family with small children staying at the Inn while we were there and they were allowed to play quite noisily in the pool until mid-night and then race screaming into the Inn afterwards to their room. The breakfast in the morning was sparse and just laid out on the office counter.

There are far too many nice, charming and pampering inns in Key West . We have stayed at many of them already and had wonderful experiences. The Duval Inn was such a stark contrast in comparison to the standard of the others that we will never make another reservation at the Duval Inn.

We would like to address this review as there are a number of things that we feel are not justified. First, our staff is not rude or condescending to any of our guests. We treat our guests with kindness and respect. Just read a few of our recent reviews and you’ll see that this comment is not warranted. As for the next door parking charge, it is clearly stated on reservation confirmation, as well as on our website. Had they called in and inquired we would have confirmed that as well. By the way, in many cases parking in Key West is $20 or more and is not even nearby.

Had this guest taken the time they would have found out our breakfasts are Island Continental and our menu is posted on our website and at the check-in counter. Most B&Bs are small and our office area is a combination breakfast nook and kitchen. It is self serve and most guests enjoy sitting in the garden area next to the fountain for breakfast.

Key West is a vacation destination and we are a family oriented inn, as it states on our website. Sometimes children can get a little noisy and exited when they are on vacation. Most guests don’t go to bed so early in Key West.

We checked the lights in the room after they checked out and they were working properly so we cannot reply to this statement. The guest did have one legitimate complaint, the fan was not working properly and was replaced the next day. Had they notified us immediately, we do have a full time maintenance person and would have replaced it immediately. And all of our rooms are air-conditioned and the fans are mostly for aesthetics anyway.

We’re sorry we were unable to accommodate this guest to their liking. I take it personally when there are negative comments about my staff. They’ve been with me a long time and I know they go out of their way to accommodate all of our guests, even the bad ones. This is just one negative review, but if you take the time to read some of our over 500 reviews, you’ll see what the Duval Inn is about. Just to make a point, we are number 21 out of 97 B&Bs in Key West on Trip Advisor.

Sincerely,
Cory Hanson

What a lovely place to come back to after a full day of fun in the sun!! It's in a perfect location just off Duval within walking distance to restaurants and nightly entertainment. Need to unwind, grap a lounge chair by the pool or just hang out in the courtyard and enjoy the quiet. Also before leaving make sure you check out a sunset cruise and The Butterfly Conservatory. Kat, Captain Ron and staff made my visit enjoyable and I would recommend this "slice of heaven" for business or pleasure visits.

Room Tip: The Lauren Room is spacious, cool and very comfortable.

The Inn is half a block from Duval on Angela St. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The patio/pool area is a nice sanctuary. Unless you are not bothered by heat and humidity I suggest you stay away in the Summer. A few of the rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator so before you book it just make sure the room you want is on the ground floor. There is a breakfast which is the same everyday. Nothing special but it does the job and you can eat what you want. There is no indoor dining area, you either sit out in the patio area or eat in your room.

Room Tip: Lauren has the most room followed by Hibiscus.

We had our business retreat at Duval Inn for 4 days Aug 22-25th. It is a great place to stay. The Lauren Room is very nice and spacious. I recommend this bed & breakfast to anyone and when we go back to Key West, we will stay there again. Ther roosters will wake you up early, but that will happen no matter where you stay in Key West. Kat is very nice and will take good care of you.

Room Tip: The Lauren is one of the biggest rooms, it's beautiful and very spacious. The Orchid is one of...
