Like some of the other reviews I have mixed feelings about staying here. I had booked my reservation months in advance when it was the Westin. I was informed of the rebranding so was not taken by surprise when we arrived. I was expecting something a bit less classy given the name but it still gave me the classier resort feel when I arrived. We chose this hotel due to the price and being right in the middle of all the action, plus it was one of the few that offered suites so that my adult family of 5 could still be somewhat separated from each other. We loved having our own suite with private balcony and able to look out on the ocean. As mentioned by others the cruise ships do hinder the view during the day, which was somewhat disappointing, but we were able to see the magical sunsets so that was good. Definitely would recommend eating off site as the food is good but pricey. We also had a great view of the harbor and sunset from our room so stayed there for the sunsets as going to Mallory Square or the second level bar was too crowded. The room itself was amazing, especially when we used to more budget friendly hotels. It definitely could use some spiffing up to earn the resort title but it wasn't awful. I am quite confused by the purpose of all of the fees that we were charged and even though I booked at a special rate months in advance I think they still somehow managed to charge me more in fees to make up for my deals. The staff was very helpful for us with checking in/out, adding an extra night and getting extra towels and even a cot (which actually was a normal twin sized bed on wheels). Would I stay there again? If money wasn't an issue I would most definitely stay there again as we liked the resort overall and loved the location. However, the prices are a bit steep for me so probably won't be at the top of the list next time.
