“Don't bother visiting”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

As a train buff and having studied the Florida East Coast Railway I was looking forward to this. When we got there there was no one manning the museum. We strolled through, but pictures and exhibits are falling apart. Very disappointing - it looked as though it had been closed/deserted.

“Shame more is not made of this amazing part of Key West History”
Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

This museum is free, so we were not expecting a huge amount. What little there is on display at this museum is very interesting but it just seems rather sad that it is confined to two small buildings. This railroad and the story behind it is fascinating and a major part of Key West History. I guess the public are just more interested in drinking on Duvall street.

“disappointed”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

This museum is two small buildings that have several pictures and a few displays. There was a television in the corner that was supposed to play a video about Flagler Station and Mr. Flagler but it wouldn't work. There was no one onsite to check the video player or to tell you any information about the museum. There's nothing wrong with a self guided tour but usually there is a pamphlet or brochure you can read and at least one person available to make sure the equipment is up and running neither of these were there.

“Good Overview of the Overseas Railroad”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

If you don't know about the Overseas Railroad, Henry Flagler, his "influence" on Key West and all of the Keys development or are interested in artifacts from the train, this is a good attraction. The tickets come with the conch train/trolley tickets and it's worth an hour or so to stop by, watch a short video and check out the memorabilia from the trains. Close by is Pepe's, good to go there for breakfast first (oldest restaurant and a haunt of President Truman's - although not in this location) and then just stroll on over to the museum. Also, nice place to stop if you're doing any of the "touristy" restaurants in the Historic Seaport with the buy one get one free coupon up to $5.50 drinks (Turtle Krawl, Half Shells, Schooners etc. - just make sure you ask how much the drink is first and order house booze or you will get premium) or just walking on the boardwalk. Would not recommend for small children.
