Albury Court Hotel in Key West
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Small rooms, yet clean, comfy and conveniently close to the main Key West attraction i.e. Duval Street. Parking was free, you just had to find a free slot other than the 'resident' parking spots. The breakfast was better in some other keys that we stayed in. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. But do not be fooled by the pool side etc rooms, the pool is literally just for show, you can't actually take a dip in it, it is the size of a kids pool at best.

Room Tip: Take the room facing away from the main street, it is pretty nice and quiet

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and within walking distance of most attractions and only a couple of blocks of Duval St. The complementary breakfast was tasty and more than sufficient. The staff were friendly and very helpful

We enjoyed a peaceful getaway at the Albury. The staff greeted us warmly, provided a good introduction to Key West, and had our room ready early. Throughout our stay, the room was kept neat and clean, and the hotel remained quiet. The continental breakfast poolside was a nice touch as well. The hotel's location is good, as we preferred to be within walking distance but not shouting distance of the hustle and bustle around Duval Street.

My sister and I stayed here for two nights in March 2014. We paid $348 per night for a room with two queen beds overlooking the street and absolutely no view. The rooms had no shelving in the bathroom so we had to use the kitchenette counter for our toiletries, 4 hooks on the wall and no hangers instead of a wardrobe, no minibar, a very noisy air conditioning wall unit, and a bedroom floor that was gritty with sand and dirt. A pool the size of a handkerchief and a cheap breakfast. The hotel had NO services and only coca cola and water in the bar at the registration desk for $1. Boutique charm this is not - just a way overpriced motel.

March is the peak of Key West's high season, and the rates at the Albury Court Hotel are among the lowest you can find. We are in Old Town rather than on the water, so I'm not sure what view other than the surrounding neighborhood you were expecting? Whilst we may not have the amenities of resorts that charge substantially more than us such as a fully stocked mini-bar, there was a mini-refrigerator in your room that you could have utilized if having cold beverages in your room was a priority. The pool in the courtyard with the charming waterfall feature is definitely more of a soaking pool in which to take a refreshing dip after a warm day on the island rather than a larger lap pool, but we have it as a nice touch for those who wish to use it...We don't advertise that we have a big swimming pool or anything like that. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.

There is a reason they make you pay for the entire stay at check-in & before you see the room. Beds are not comfortable and pillows are like rocks. At $200-$300 a night (in season), this is a complete rip off. More like a dorm room.
If you're used to nice hotels & fine dining, skip a Key West.
Unfortunately, nothing more than overpriced hotels/guesthouses, very very expensive restaurants (more than NYC) and tacky t-shirt shops.
It was probably a nice place many years ago.

Btw...Albury Court is owned by a company that owns several guesthouses in Key West: stay away from them all.

Room Tip: Just don't stay at Albury Court.

Based on your entire review, it sounds more like Key West itself (rather than the Albury Court Hotel specifically) is not to your liking. Whilst many visitors love our beautiful island home as much as we do, there is no one destination that is going to be for everyone. There are some amazing restaurants here and so many other wonderful things to do both on and off the water. The rates at the Albury Court Hotel are among the most competitive in town as I'm sure you already know. (I do tend to agree with you that Key West, like many other popular vacation destinations, could do without some of the T-Shirt shops, but that's beyond our control!)

We were in Key West for our friend's wedding. The wedding was at a "5-star" hotel on the beach, and we didn't want to spend $300+ per night, not to mention we tend to shy away from the big brand hotel experience. A small, privately owned place like Albury Court suits our tastes much better, and this great little place didn't disappoint.

We had the downstairs room right by the pool, and we had no problems with noise from above or even from the pool area. It was wonderfully convenient to sit by the pool right outside our room, and to enjoy the continental breakfast served by the pool every morning. The room was small but spotless and modern.

If you're looking for a place right on the beach, or a place right in the middle of the Duval Street action, this place will probably disappoint, but for a great little place just close enough to the action to walk and just far enough to be peaceful, you'll love Albury Court.

My wife and I went on a trip here for my birthday. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is favorable for getting anywhere with a short walk but still offers some privacy. Nice place. The only Challenge was a roach in the room one night but its Key West and there is water everywhere so I know you may see a bug. I recommend.
