Owner description: The Eco-Discovery Center features more than 6,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, which interpret the resources and management efforts of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, two national parks, and four national wildlife refuges. Check out the exhibit on Aquarius, the world's only underwater ocean laboratory, the Living Reef exhibit, which includes a 2,500-gallon reef tank with living corals and tropical fish, the live Reef Cam, and other displays that highlight the coral reef environment. The Center is located in NOAA’s Dr. Nancy Foster Florida Keys Environmental Complex on the Truman Annex waterfront in Key West. Admission is always free (and so is parking), so be sure to stop by for a visit!

Great interactive place to learn all about the local keys ecological system & very informative short video. There is a small gift shop on site, & you get to see the local coastguard boat.

We hadn't planned on going here, but the Ingram ship guides recommended the place. Considering it was hot on the ship we just toured and an extremely hot and humid day and it was free we decided to go, especially since it was next to the Ingram ship. We were remarkably surprised by some of the exhibits. Learned a few things I didn't know before. Some exhibits are hands on and would appeal to kids. It would take you at most an hour here. I think small children would find it sort of boring because there are some exhibits that require a bit of reading. Considering most places in Key west charge an entrance fee, free admission is especially appealing. A bit of a hike from the main action, we were glad we had scooters. Over all I think it would be a place to go and at least take a look and its Free.

A hidden treasure in Key West. No charge admission. Lots of information on the reefs and seas around the keys including an undersea living demo.

Perfect place for adults, or to bring older children (7 - 13 range). They have many hands on videos, and a film to see, all very attractive and informative. The staff were very nice and helpful. Clean rest rooms and air conditioning felt great too on this hot day. Highly recommend and would return.

We discovered the Eco Center after a visit to the Coast Guard Cutter Ingraham. The museum was right next door. The museum was really informative and was good for small kids to adults. It was a nice break from the heat, and an added plus was that it was free. There was free parking in front of the building.
