“Great Option though pricey”
Reviewed 16 August 2011

I stayed here for one night in December around the Holidays as I made my way south to Key West. The hotel is around mile marker 80 and is typical of other hampton inn's in terms of the amenities, decor, etc. That means it was quite comfortable and predictable. Room was spacious, fairly quiet. Breakfast was good, typical of Hamptons meaning you get basic food and strerile hot foods if you like. The hotel has a very cute little beach with Hammocks, always a great place to spend enjoying the sun or sunset. There's a full service Outback on the property, meaning you dont have to venture back to Key Largo to have some good food and drink.
Only downside is the cost of the hotel, but given its location, its a fair option and reliable good night sleep. I tend to use points which is a good value for me.

Kitchen has no fry pan, told we were not permitted to fry food. No large bowls, how do you make a salad. Not happy with the response from the front desk. We came all the way down here from Maine expecting to be able to cook our meals, guess they really want you to eat at the Outback. Flash advertisement!

The kitchen is less that satisfactory. Not looking for top of the line, just want to be able to cook our meals.

Paid for a kitchenett that we cannot use!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stay here every year and have to admit that we are cheap travelers. This hotel has real indoor corridors which is unusual for the Keys. Most other hotels seem like motels compared to the Hampton Inn. The pool, breakfast, and ocean round off things quite nicely. Will stay here again!!!

This was just a stop-over on our way to Key West. This was an above-average hotel. The first room we were given had a smoky odor, so we complained and the staff moved us to a different room that was better, so be careful which room you get. We drove from Orlando so we were very tired by the time we arrived at Islamorada, so we loved that the Outback steakhouse was on site. There is a nice pool area, and they had live music one night while serving drinks at the fairly large pool, and that was nice. However, there is not a real 'beach' area; there is sand and some hammocks to lay in (nice) but it is on a dock type situation that drops off into the ocean--no wading just boat can go there on the dock and ride up to let on/off passengers. Internet in the lobby was slow. Parking was plentiful. Overall it was a decent place to stop over but not what I would call a destination hotel.

Stayed here for two nights in a suite with two bedrooms. Outback restaurant is attached to the hotel which was good. Plastic plates for breakfast which was ok. Good location. nice seating area at sea but no beach. Would stay again. Rooms a bit tired but clean.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor room (4 or over) on pool side with sea view

We rented a 2 bedroom suite with the pool view for a family of 5. It was perfect. The breakfast included was generous. There is an Outback Steakhouse connected to the motel and it operates a Tiki bar for lunch and dinner (and oh yea, great drinks). The pool is huge and there is pier to dock your boat. It is near many resturants and boat rentals are evrywhere (for fishing or snorkeling). We will be going back.

Room Tip: Ask for pool side or ocean front
