Stayed here during our trip to the Keys. It is a nice, comfortable hotel. Clean, comfortable beds. We stayed in a suit, with a kitchen and living room. The living room area was excellent, with a balcony and side views to the ocean. The breakfast was complimentary and of average quality. I found the pictures of the beach (on hotel website) a bit misleading. There is no real beach, consists of an ocean-side concrete with some artificial sand. You may swim utilizing the ladder that extends from the concrete to the ocean. During our visit, it was so windy that we couldnt really even sit at the beach. I think this was because the hotel is on the ocean side of keys (not the mexico gulf). We used a nearby public beach (Anne's beach park) instead. Another dissapointment was the pool. I couldnt believe how small the pool was compared to the pictures. In summary, we loved the hotel room, but the beach (or no beach) and the pool area was dissapointing. This shouldnt be called a resort but a regular hotel. It was definetely too expensive for what it offers.
There isnt much to do close by, best attractions are usually closer to Key west, key west is 2 hours drive from here. John pennekemp SP is somewhat closer. Next time I visit the keys I am definetely staying somewhere in Marathon instead of Islamorada.More
