This is a well-located hotel that provides all the amenities needed for a comfortable, enjoyable Florida Keys vacation home base. The rooms and suites are very spacious, there's a complimentary, well-stocked continental breakfast (with great coffee) every morning, and an Outback restaurant attached if you don't want to experiment with local eateries. The pool area is clean and well-maintained with lots of chaise lounges and umbrellas and part of this area is a tiki bar with cocktails and bar foods available. The hotel is oceanfront but there's no swimmable beach - there are though lots of chaise lounges and hammocks in the sand here for relaxing and enjoying the lovely ocean views. There's a nice gift shop in the hotel and they can arrange snorkeling trips and kayak/boat rentals for you.
There are nice beach areas within easy driving distance - we liked Sombrero Beach which is about 30-40 minutes west in Marathon - the drive there was fast-moving and VERY scenic. There are other nice, smaller beach areas closer to the hotel if driving a 1/2 hour doesn't interest you.

I spent many hours researching Islamorada hotels online , have never written a review before but was so happy with the outcome that I wanted to share the info.. We were so pleased with everything about the Hampton Inn. The pool area and beach are so tropical- well maintained and so relaxing. Tikki hut is convenient and you can get food from Outback there.
We were upgraded to 2 bedrm suite which was huge(2 bbdrm- 2 ba, kitchen,LV) and friends had spacious standard room. We were all thrilled with accomodations and the staff was so helpful. Only suggestion would be if you can upgrade or spend a little more money the pool side of resort is quieter. From time to time we could hear cars in parking lot. For the money and lack of resort fee felt that we got a great deal and would go back in a minute.
Husbands fished at Bud and Mary's marina and ate their catch next door at Lazy Days which are both just steps away..Try the lazy day topping!. Best sunset was at IslamoradaFish Co. Memorable trip.

Our family just returned from a week-long vacation stay at the Islamorada Hampton Inn, and we were extremely pleased with the facility and its staff during our stay. The property was cleanly kept, all of the furnishings and amenities were in good working order, and the staff was extremely capable and polite. My daughter had brought her favorite pink pig beanie-baby along during the trip, and we discovered Pinky was missing one day during our stay. After we searched our room from top to bottom for the missing pig, we went down to the front desk with one last desparate hope that someone may have found Pinky. Before I could even finish my sentence of "My daughter had a little pink pig..." the woman working the courtesy desk began smiling, walked to an area behind the main reception desk, and came back out holding Pinky in her hands - the pig had accidentally got taken out with the linens that morning after being left lying under the blankets. Housecleaning had turned Pinky into the front desk after finding her in the linens - without running her through the washer or dryer. My daugher is forever thankful to the staff of the Islamorada Hampton Inn.

The folks in the hotel gift shop (Sea Monkeys) were extremely polite and helpful. In addition to running the gift shop on the ground floor of the hotel, Sea Monkeys also rents waverunners, provides snorkeling trips, and rents sea kayaks from the dock immediately next to the hotel. Likewise, if you're into fishing Capt. Charlie runs a small charter fishing operation from the hotel's dock, and Charlie is as good a guide and guy as you can ever find.

Outback Steakhouse operates the hotel restaurant, and while we did not eat there (what Yankee goes to the Keys to eat steak, right?) the restaurant seemed to regularly be full with hotel guests and locals. As part of the room charge, the hotel provides a nice, warm continental breakfast every morning, and the breakfast was more than ample every morning.

While the Islamorada Hampton Inn is not on the same level as some of the luxury resorts that dot the Florida Keys, we certainly felt that we were more than provided with our money's worth during our stay. I will certainly recommend the Islamorada Hampton Inn to my friends, and we will plan on staying there again if and when we make it back to the Florida Keys.

This is one of the only chain hotels on Islamorada, or throughout the Keys, actually. It is very nice. It is clean, well organized, and offers pretty much everything you would expect from a Hampton Inn. We had a two-night stay planned but our airline, thru a comedy of errors, got us there a day late. I called the hotel directly the first day, when we knew we were not going to make it, and they had no issues changing our reservations. So that was good.

We eventually got there and everything was as expected. Our room was large, clean, smelled good, and the bed was very comfortable. When the porch door was closed, the music from the bar down below was not audible, which was nice (when we wanted that; the music itself was quite good!). The free morning breakfast is very typical of a Hampton (love the egg patties!) and very crowded but they did a good job of keeping the food coming.

The restaurant and bar here is an attached Outback steakhouse. We only went to the bar, which is outdoors and featured live, local, music. The music was good, the service was great (Diane was our bartender and she was fantastic), and we really enjoyed ourselves here.

Highly recommended.

Stayed here one night on way to keys. Was very impressed with several things about hotel. Very nice beach with beautiful view of ocean. Has many chairs and hammocks. Also has an Outback restaurant and Tiki bar located at hotel which is very nicely located overviewing beach. We were upgraded to a suite room which was very nice with a separate bedroom and a full kitchen. It looks like the hotel was newly decorated with new carpeting, wallpaper. The staff was also very polite and helpful. I would highly recommend
