“Who needs Margaritaville??”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2010

We were referred from Texas by a fishing buddy of my boss. He said this was the perfect location and style for laid back "fisher" and "beach" types. He was so right. My husband and I are low key, low maintenance Texans. The small kitched was great for sandwich and breakfast prep before or after the days adventure. The location for either trip to Key Largo or Key West was perfect and all the fishing or snorkeling we could want was accessible right there. At sunset, on their pier with a cold drink in hand the days wound up like a perfectly written novel. There was a family with three young boys next door who never lacked for something to do on the grounds.

Stayed over a weekend on the recommendation of a local business woman.

Grounds are very nice. Buildings are a little old and in need of some TLC, but we received a very good rate for a last minute walk in and we were not expecting the four seasons.

Room was very clean and bed was ok. Resort was very quiet and peaceful.

We would return

We chose this hotel because of the free dockage and high ratings, however, the ramp was boarderline unusable. They refused to let us use water or power at the dock. Upon checking out we found out that there was a quarter machine to use the water at the dock. The WiFi didn't work and I was shocked by the stove. The air conditioner was terribly loud all night and the bed was very uncomfortable. It is very clean and the grounds are beautiful but for the dollar there are much much better options on Islamorada,FL.

The Coral Bay was perfect for our family. Our teenagers 15, 16 & 18 were happy the entire time. Fishing, swimming or doing nothing. It was great for all of us! We all sat out on the dock and watched the sunsets every night! Spectacular! Each night was completely different from the night before. Fishing with Capt. Joe Petrucco was awesome. We will be back next year!

I did a lot of research before deciding on Coral Bay, and I couldn't have been more satisfied with our accomodations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The whole trip was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much, we will be back soon.

We loved our stay at Coral Bay Resorts. The managers couldn't have been more helpful or accomodating. You feel like a family member. If you are looking for a full service resort, this is not the place. However, if you are looking for the Keys experience, this is IT. It feels like you are staying in a cottage on the beach. From our room, #7, we could see the gulf. We were right across from the pool. Our kids enjoyed the pool, the lagoon, fishing off of the cement pier (which has a granite fish cleaning table), and jumping off into the crystal clear gulf. Some manatees swam right up to the pier so that we could get a good look at them. How cool was THAT?

Every night, we would eat outside by the water. Sometimes we were on the beach, sometimes on a pier, but every night, we had fish with the sights and sounds of the water right there. Our goal was to have Key Lime Pie every day. Our favorite was the Islamorada Fish Company. Our favorite food was eaten at the Hungry Tarpon. Our kids got to feed the tarpons right from the dock - for a fee, but it was worth it.

I would definitely stay here again. To us, there is no other place worth checking out after staying here.
