At $300 per night, this hotel is overpriced for the quality of the room and amenities. The resort and rooms were decorated in a minimalistic coastal style, which was appropriate for the location. However, the room smelled very musty, the bed was average, and the bathroom left much to be desired. Overall, the room had a renovated but old smell and feel. There is a $15 resort fee and I don't know why because they charge for anything and everything (such as an umbrella on the beach). The oceanfront room had a nice beach and waterfront view. We actually enjoyed the food and drinks at The Raw Bar. There was no live music during the day around the bars, which made for an odd atmosphere as it was a very tropical setting with classic rock-n-roll playing through crackling old speakers. Could have been much nicer with tropical music, island music or live music. For the price, I'll try other places when returning to Islamorada or Key Largo.

Room Tip: Make sure you get an oceanfront room that doesn't smell.

Thank you for writing about your stay with us. Regarding your comments about the resort fee, and a charge for umbrellas, I would iek to explain what teh resort fee does cover. It includes complimentary resort wide wi-fi, lounge chairs on the beach, free local phone calls, your coffee and lemonade in the lobby, free faxing, free internet access and use of our computers, and assorted newspapers. I apologize for the musty smell you experienced in the room. It could have been a cleaning product residue or something else, just not sureThank you for staying with us this time and I do hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you again in the futeure.

We were here for a day and were pleasantly surprised on the changes from the old Holiday Isle. it is more family friendly compared to the drunk fest that used to be Holiday Isle. Much cleaner and the staff is better. people complaining about the $15.00 resort fee but when you are getting beach lounges for free it is a bargain at $15.00. No fee for parking. See Lori for a massage on the beach!

Room Tip: Ask for Oceanfront but you may have to reserve way in advance.

we stayed at "postcards" for a week and it was nice. the outdoor activities and facilities were great-that is basically what u are paying for!!! the extra 15 dollars a day is a bit ridiculous and unnessecary(sp)!!! the attendant who checked us in was very nice and helpful! we went to our room and noticed that the shower/bath tub was dripping and backed up...i called and they moved us immediatley without hestitation. the room was small, newer and clean, the rooms are also in absolute desperate need of refrigorators.. and a microwave wouldnt hurt either. just like many other reviews the bathrooms are a wreck and need TONS of attention! they did and are doing such a nice job renovating and keeping the place clean it seems as if the sckimped on the bathrooms!! tiles cracked on the floors, large stone piece on the wall behind door was cracked, gaps filled poorly with numerous and various materials, no bathroom fans and no storage space. i thought it was odd that the pace is ON the OCEAN and no screen doors on windows or sliding doors..HHMMM. oohh and walls are definetly tissue paper thin, beds were comfy but the sheets did occasionally have misc stains on them...ick!!! food is good but expensive. the security around the pools and beach were great keeping the "outsiders" out!!
highly recommend: Chef Micheals restaruant and fishing with Steve Muarry!!!!

if you can find a good price its worth a try..........................

The property and resort make a wonderful vacation in the sun. Kim offers the best bribes for top comments on tripadvisor :) fresh tangerines, magazines, a 90 foot yacht, 2 llamas, and a Heineken. Seriously, Kim made our day by the pool fantastic and this place is great. But... anyone in need of llamas? they keep spitting on us.

Thanks for commenting on Kim, our ocean fron baretender at Floaters! She does a great job for us. Looks like she offered you two llamas more than she has offered others! I do hope you will return often and enjoy Kim's service as well as others. on the staff.

I had never been to the Keys, and this hotel made it a nearly perfect trip. 2 downfalls-the music is loud at night if you are in building 1 (from the bands in the Tiki Bar) and the light on the patio overlooking the ocean cannot be turned off at night, which was a really big deal for me, because it was unappealing to sit outside at night, and it was impossible to sleep with the door open (for the sea breezes and sounds of the waves). The view is unbelievable. the room is fresh, tidy and simple. There was a lot of space in the room and a nice fridge. The restaurants are decent with friendly employees (I have seen bad reviews of Shula Burger, but my burger was one of the best I've ever eaten). The pool was clean and not crowded. The beach was immaculate. There were always plenty of friendly employees around. I thought it was lovely, and about the best location ever. Paradise.

Room Tip: Building 1 has the best rooms; buildings 1 and 2 face the ocean; building 3 is considered oceanfront...

We checked in to our Ocean Front Lanai room only to find that when you went into the bathroom, and stepped on the tile floor, water oozed up from between the tiles. After a hasty call to the desk, we were moved to an upgraded suite. It was dark, and unattractive. The air conditioner roared. You had to have an engineering degree to get the thermostat to work to shut it down. I took off the cover and blew the dust off the inside. After about tem minutes, it finally shut off. The bathroom had zero space to put any toiletries. We moved a table from the living room to just outside the bathroom so that we could have someplace to put our toothbrushes! The closet sliding door was out of it's track, and dragged across the floor. The amenites that they brag about pale in comparison the what a Hampton Inn gives you. No facilties for breakfast except Shula Burger, which is cholesrol heaven. All this for only $ 400 a night. What did they do with the $11 million they supposedly spent on a renovation?

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

Recently converted from the old Holiday Isle Resort to the new Postcard Inn Resort at a cost (we were told by the hotel manager) of $11 million, a guest would be hard-pressed to find any of this expense (despite the purported "designer" furnishings). While our Gulf-view, 5th floor room had an OK bed and appeared to have a new sliding glass door and flooring, the bathroom was a worn-out, low-rent place with a toilet seat that did not fit the toilet and a raggedy shower stall. Ridiculous at the $429 nightly cost (plus taxes and $15/night resort fee) of the room. In general, the hotel is more Motel 6 than luxury resort. The "world famous" (their words) Tiki Bar has not been renovated but could sorely use a (perhaps judicious) remake to keep the character but make it less the college rathskeller, as could the raw bar. The Shula Burger on premises is just OK and does nothing to make a guest happier about the room cost. In short, kind of a shame, as it's a waste of a beautiful location. Of course, all would have been forgiven if the room had been $229, not $429!

Room Tip: Get a Gulf-view room at the nearby Chica Lodge instead.

Thank you very much for your comments. I was dissapointed to hear that you were not totally satisfied with the decor and renovations that have taken place and of course the value for dollars spent for your suite. Although our rooms were not Totally renovated we have done a great deal in each room, like flooring, bedding, new flat screen TVs, furniture, sliding glass doors, lighting. amenities, and of course everything we have done to improve the outside of the resort, like landscaping, pools, resort wide wi-fi, an incredible beach area, and a relaxing Bimini Row to name a few. We have many specials available for our ocean front rooms and garden view rooms on our website which will be more in line with what you had suggested for a value rate. I hope you will return and give us another opportunity to serve you! Thank you again for taking the time to write.

Sincerely,
