The service here is outstanding and the pina colodas are terrific. We only had one night here as we worked our way through the keys but we absolutely loved it. A great place to relax and chill. We stayed in a garden view room that was next to the water fall. The view from the patio was stunning and the sound of the waterfall melted the stress away.

Room Tip: All the ground level garden rooms are awesome.

We really loved the relaxed vibe at this place. A nice continental breakfast on a deck comes with the room. No restaurant for dinner, but it’s very close to several good places to eat. We stayed in a 2nd floor garden suite, which had a view of the garden, not the water.

Pros:
- Complimentary use of bikes and kayaks. We didn’t even have to sign them out – just grab one and bring it back when you’re finished. It had a feel of staying in someone’s (gorgeous) home rather than being in a hotel.
- Complimentary yoga class on weekend mornings at the end of the pier. Wonderful.
- Yoga mats and beach bag in the room.
- The screened-in balcony was huge and fantastic. We loved sitting out there reading. No light, but we turned on one of the bedroom night table lights which worked out fine in the dark evening.
- A really cool pavilion by the pool where you can relax in privacy –first come first served, but we got it each of 3 days for a while.

Cons:
- The bathroom was really tiny. It was more like what you would expect to find in a cheap motel. There was a sink in the outer area, and then behind a door was a tiny bathtub with shower and a toilet crammed next to the tub. For the money they charge, and all of the other luxury I just can’t see how they scrimped so much on the bathroom.
- Very limited storage for clothes. The closet is tiny and there are only 3 very thin drawers. We emptied out an area with an ice bucket and glasses and used that for extra clothes storage. Again, such an expensive place with attention to things like beach bag and yoga mats should pay attention to where people are meant to put their clothes.

We booked this hotel for one night of our honeymoon, based on the excellent reviews. We were in absolute shock when we arrived at how dumpy it was. It was by far the most expensive night of our 5-star honeymoon and absolutely the worst. We were 'upgraded' to the Honeymoon suite, which is conveniently next to the driveway and above reception, where we could hear people talking on the phone and sweeping outside during the morning. When we arrived to check in we were shown our room - which had the cleaners bag and other belongings in it, so we were diverted to the 'tour' instead. There, at the tiny puddle pool we found the cleaner. After being let into our very basic room we were advised the spa would take over an hour to fill. The shower was not clean and everything felt like we were staying in someones house. Not relaxing at all - or comforting to pull down the sheets and find massive stains. We had to leave, but there is nothing on Islamorada to do! Went to ride the 'bikes' they have but were advised not to take them off the property as the roads were too dangerous!! Went to order something from the on-site restaurant but couldn't find the chef - neither could reception!!! This whole place feels like dodgy bed and breakfast - extremely over priced. It was definitely the place on our honeymoon we would never recommend. There are beautiful resorts in Florida Keys - don't waste any time or money on this falsely advertised junky motel. Oh, and the Pool closes at 6pm.

Room Tip: The Honeymoon Suite is probably the least-private in all.

Had a wonderful 4 nights here. We stayed in the Manatee suite which overlooks the water and pier, a lovely room
The staff are outstanding - Ivette is the concierge who can get things done ! Jessica in the Pier bar is friendly, efficient and fun to talk to . The food on the pier is always freshly made, so expect a wait, but its worth it, and its a memorable place to watch the sunset with a cool drink.
we took three trips whilst on the property - a fishing trip with Captain Brett ( amazing, reviewed separately) and two with Captain Bill Todd.
The snorkeling /Eco tour had an incredible start when during a visit to a Pelican colony, we found a manatee calf grazing in the shallows ! We followed this with a dolphin sighting and some great reef snorkeling.
The sunset cruise was the perfect end to our two week trip - Bill is an entertaining host and an excellent sailor - its hard to describe the tranquility of gliding along the water in near silence at sunset with a glass of something chilled. just perfect.
Thank you Casa Morada and Captain Bill, we will be back !

Room Tip: manatee - the only minor point is that you are below the breakfast area so tend to have an early sta...

We traveled here in 2010 for a wedding. We loved this property. Great rooms, very clean and the property was amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to the Keys. We really enjoyed the ocean side bar and the breakfast each morning.

We spent three of our eight nights in the keys at beautiful, serene, delicious Casa Morada. Didn't want to leave. Next time we'll spend our whole vacation there. The combination of its boutique style, small size, no kids and island feel (the pool and bar area is an actual island) was elegant and perfect. Romantic, too. The owners and staff (shoutout to Ross) make life there easy and relaxing. Special touches, such as breakfast with abundant copies of the NYTimes, and island drinks out in the gazebo (or at the pool) made with sake, were nice. No dinner is served, but there are many places to go, including a few that are walkable. We enjoyed meeting the other guests--the hotel attracted a nice group of people.

We stayed in the Manatee suite right by the water. It's an L-shaped room with a king bed and two chairs with ottomans in the long part. The short part of the L is an alcove with a wardrobe, fridge, sink and the unit's two mirrors. It is quite dark, with only one sconce with a very low-wattage bulb--definitely needs another light. The bathroom is large and has a nice rain shower. Robes and slippers were provided.

Manatee is the unit under the breakfast area. As others have noted, you do hear the chairs scraping overhead, but honestly it didn't bother us. We'd be happy to stay in that unit again.

There is no Verizon wireless reception on the property, but there is complimentary wifi throughout and land lines in the guest rooms with free calling, so it really isn't an issue. Our land line was on one of the night stands with a short wire. In a perfect world, an extension in the sitting area would have been useful (and in an even more perfect world no one would have to make business calls on vacation!). But this is small stuff--Casa Morada is wonderful. The only way it could be better, in my view, would be to be a smoke-free property.

Casa Morada, we were a little disappointed to tell the truth. The property could do with a bit of 'spruce up'. The air conditioning in the suite was the loudest that we have ever encountered which gave us the option of extreme heat or a more comfortable temperature but with disturbed sleep. The room was quite basic with little storage space. We turned up for breakfast on the veranda on each of the three mornings that we were there (at a different time each day) to find no tables available, so had to go away, to return later. The breakfast on the whole was very basic.

On the plus side, the girls in the reception were very helpful and courteous and the beach area was outstandingly beautiful. Nice place to see the sunset and lounge by the sea.

All in all, for $450 (inc tax) a night we were left feeling it cost too much for what it was.
