Loved the sushi boat. They were quick to seat us outside without a reservation. The waitstaff took care of our 2 year old son very quickly serving him his food!

Nothing wrong with the food (other than price), but not much stands really out either. Taste is pretty blah. We had the Miso soup (blah), Tartar (no taste), Bonsai roll, Vegas roll (both recommended by waiter), and sushi plate with four different fish. The fish pieces were thin, large slices, a shape different than expected. The salmon was remarkably tasteless. There was a lot of tempura on the menu, and not that much fish variety. For the price you can do better somewhere else. Neither service nor ambience stood out. We walked away underwhelmed and wished we had gone to Kaiyo grill next door instead. Only surprising yet spicy appetizer was the scallops/jalopeneo shot with a quail egg in it. Save it for dessert (we did) so you don't tank your taste buds.

My wife and I have lived in several large cities where sushi was prevalent and abundant. We were a little reluctant to try sushi in the keys but found the quality of the sushi, creativity and service very good at Nikai. We really enjoyed the bonsai and nitro rolls. If you like sushi you will enjoy this place.

While staying at the Cheeca Lodge we decided to try eating here. The Sushi was absolutely delicious. The service was very lack luster. I gave them 4 stars because the servers can be replaced but the food was wonderful.

We were treated like royalty as soon as we went to the maitre'd/host desk. A friend and I wanted to order a drink each, and then take-out sushi for 5 people. They were more than happy to accommodate us. Our chairs were pulled out for us, our drink orders taken promptly, and the sushi chef was happy to change one roll due to a food allergy. The sushi restaurant a block down advised us they had no space at the bar and did not do take out. We spent over $150 that night, so they missed out!
