This vacation was exactly what we were looking for - Peaceful and relaxing. There was enough activities around to keep us occupied and at the same time still enjoy the beauty of The Keys. We stayed in the Oceanfront Cottage and think it was well worth the upgrade. We had amazing views of the sunrise every morning and slight privacy from the other guests. Look forward to coming back!

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay this is it. Personal service unlike the big hotel chains, everyone here treats you like family. Very friendly staff that truly care about you and your stay. I cannot say enough about my experience here other than Great !

This is a gem of a resort, small and friendly with lovely accomodation. We stayed in the ocean front villa which was right on the white beach, overlooking the pontooons on the edge of the resort. Whilst not picture perfect like the large corporate chains, this offers so much more charm and was a very enticing place to stay. The staff were also very helpful. We only had four nights, you could comfortably stay for a fortnight.

I just returned from a stay at the Pines and Palms.

The property is located on the shore oceanside. Plenty of parking was available. The office closes at 8pm and no restaurants are onsite but this was not an issue because they are so many places very close to eat (short drive and some are walkable). The staff was very friendly and had a lot of suggestions of things to see/do. The beach is more of a rocky shore with 2 piers and a boat ramp, and a small sandy area. Beautiful views. Kayaks are available and we had a nice paddle around the hotel including some mangrove stands. We also did some snorkeling off the pier and we were surprised that there was quite a bit to see. A simple but clean pool is also available.

Our 'room' was a cottage very close to the shore. It included a bedroom, changing area, kitchenette, and small bathroom. The room was very clean. The fridge did have a fish odor - but I guess this is to be expected in the sport fishing capital. Since it was on ground level we did not have breathtaking views from inside, but the patio had a great view of the ocean.

Overall, this place has a much different feel than a large beachfront hotel, but not in a bad way.

After an extensive web search trying to locate the perfect place to take my family...we found this hidden gem! Pristine clean, amazing staff and million dollar views. We spent 6 days and hated to leave. Fantastic location, awesome lounge areas, heated pool, relaxing cabanas and a pure setting for total relaxation. I read some of the reviews about it being older...think of it as how you imagined the Keys would be listening to a Jimmy Buffett song...in his own words "“I could go on for hours telling stories..but I guess you had to be there”. We are already planning our next trip back.

This is a simple place, no frills but a very sweet spot to de-stress. We stayed in one of the one bedroom efficiencies (up on stilts) with a view over the other cottages to the water. I actually liked the view as it included a variety of trees and plants in the mix. It might be nice to stay in a waterfront cottage, but I loved the gently swaying palm trees and would probably stay in the same room if we return.

I hope we will return someday. Would be a perfect place for a long weekend or more if you avail yourself of all there is to do in the area (fishing and boating mostly). We basically sat under the palm trees, down by the water and read books for 4-5 days. Daughter hung out in the hammock for hours. We sat in the big Adirondack-chair-for-two at the end of the pier every night around sundown with a rum punch in hand, watched the tide come in and the local collections of birds doing their thing. Doesn't get much better.

We took a peek at some of the other places that were on our short list and are really happy we went to Pines & Palms.
