We were staying nearby at the Cheeca Lodge, and Earl, the gatekeeper, recommended Mangrove Mike's. As I recall, he said "You won't come away hungry, and you may even need a nap after breakfast". He was correct!
It was a very busy place, but we were seated within a couple of minutes. There are a lot of locals who all seem to know one another. That is a good sign generally speaking. Service was quick and friendly. The breakfast menu covered all of the bases for a good breakfast "joint" There was even a separate "Gourmet French Toast Menu" with some very unique interesting choices.
Prices were reasonable, and the food was excellent. We ate at Mike's three more times on this short trip to Islamorada!
