I found this motel through the fla-keys.com site, and made my reservation based on reviews on this site. We stayed one night, and it was the perfect stopover point between Key West and Miami. Dennis is affable and helpful with recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The room was clean, with a refrigerator and small table. The room was much larger than we had expected. The funny thing was a tiny 17" tv on the dresser all the way across this huge room! But we did not come to the Keys to watch tv, so we didn't care. (the channel selection was the best of all the places we stayed though). Free wi-fi worked fine. The pool area was clean, and we had no noise issues. We walked to the Lorelai for a fantastic sunset dinner, and Mangrove Mike's 2 doors down was a great place for breakfast. Would stay again.

Thanks for the nice reveiw. We are a great stop over between Miami and Key West. Islamorada is a great place to spend a few days on the water--fishing, diving, snorking, kayaking, paddleboards, anything you can think of on the water. Actually our TV's are 22" with, as you mentioned, lots of chanels. We are older motel but we work hard to keep the rooms clean and everything working. Please come again and stay a few days. Islamorada is a great little town. Thanks again.

It isn't a fancy motel, it isn't the newest motel. What it is, is the best value for the money. We have stayed there a couple times and the rooms are clean, neat, comfortable. The staff is friendly. They answered any questions I had. The room was exactly what I wanted and was expecting. It is just as nice and some of the pricier hotels and motels. It is clean and quiet. We were right by the pool and didn't hear a sound.

Thanks for the Great reveiw. We are an older motel but try very hard to make sure the rooms are clean and everything works. We hope you will come stay with us again soon. Remember our off season pricing is available until the middle of Dec.
Thanks again

Heading back from the Poker Run Event in Key West we decided to stay in Islamorada for one night. We stopped at Sunset Inn upon being referred by the bartender at LoriLea. Dennis the manager was very friendly and helpful. We arrived around 1:00pm and he made the extra effort to get a room ready for early check-in. We wanted a room in front so we could park our motorcycle in front of the room. They have rooms in the back area if noise is a problem for you. Our room was huge and very clean. The beds weren't the greatest, but we were so tired it didn't matter. This is a VERY old motel, but I like the charm of it! Our back door opened out to the pool area and we enjoyed the pool very much. It was extremely clean and good sized pool. Mangrove Mike's restaurant is next door and we had a great breakfast before taking off early Sunday morning. This is a great value, about 1/2 the cost of other "resorts" nearby. Within walking distance to the LoriLea and which is a must do.

Thank you for the great review. We are an older motel but work hard at keeping it clean. As money allows we upgrade things, but still try to keep the style of Old Florida. Mangrove Mike's restaurant is Great. It is one of the things that we enjoy about living here. Fall of the year is a great time to enjoy the Keys. The weather is nice and there are less people to deal with. Many places discount their rates in the fall so there is great values available. Thanks again for the great review. Hope to see you again soon.

They need new housekeepers and maintenance personel. This place was probably nice 20 years ago. Whatever you do, do not accept any room facing the highway. Lots of traffic and there's a restaurant there and the patrons take up all of the parking out front and in the back.

We appriciate all reviews. We are sorry you had a bad experience with us. We would hope you will try us again. And if not us, please come to our great little Village of Islamorada. Islamorada has many things to offer in water activity. Mangrove Mike's restaurant is great and I am sorry if they made parking difficult. Please try Islamorada again.

My husband and I have stayed at many different resorts in the Keys. This one is just as nice as more expensive places, but for half the cost. We loved that they have lots of free boat parking. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quite roomy. The staff and other guests were friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and caught quite a few lobster to boot! The only complaint was that the traffic sounds outside were horrible. There's not much that can be done about that though. We can't wait to visit again soon!

The other reviews were spot on. The room was dated, but fully met our needs. We got a room in the back with a full kitchen. The extra space was great for all of our scuba gear. The pool was clean and warm. Bring your own shampoo and blow dryer.
Attached to the motel was a great, local breakfast spot - Mangrove Mikes - and an art shop. We picked up some local art that was framed by a repurposed lobster trap.

thanks for the great review. We are constantly updating things as money allows. We strive to be clean and neat even though we are an older place. Mangrove Mike's is the best. My husband and I eat many lunches there. Come visit us again The fall is a great time to have the Keys to your selves--less people
