We rented 2 rooms at this hotel,on july 24th to july 27th, 2014 and the owners or managers of that place were very rude with us, charged extra fees (30 dollars) for a little dog, they were watching us all the time, it was a very uncomfortable situation, no presure to wash the boat and you have to pay for the water, 1.15 for 2 minutes, and also at the end , the time to left the room they were ten minutes before the time knocking the door very hard, no tolerance, the charged us 25 xtra for leaving the room 15 minutes late. Bad experience, never back again.

All Hotels and Motels have rules and guidelines. Thank you for taking the time to write. The key word here is communication. When guests make a reservation and advise how many people are In their party and how many pets they are bringing at that moment they are advised of the fees involved. All hotels and motels that are pet friendly, charge a fee of anywhere from a one time fee of $25.00 to $75.00,or more, per pet and sometimes there is a daily charge. I know this because we travel with our dog. In this case we waived the pet fee for the Second dog . Which we were never advised of any pets. Upon check in guests are requested to fill in a registration card, and at that time too, are advised of fees for additional persons in room and pet fees. At the bottom of registration where signature is required, in red bold letters it advises guest of check out time and if there is damage to the room or smoking in the room, the cleaning fee charges. Which in this case again were waived.
If Managers are awakened by loud noises in parking lot in the middle of the night, they have to go and check circumstances to keep everyone on property safe.
It Is our guests option to wash the boat at the dock, we charge a $1.25, which is a very reasonable amount. Please try to understand that water in the keys is a very precious commodity.
Again key word is communication . If we are not advised of a late check out in advance, in the busiest time of the year, and we have guests checking in, just like you, they expect their room to be ready on time, therefore not making it easy for everyone involved.
Bottom line is if you follow the guidelines and rules placed by the Hotel, Motel, Inn, that you make reservations with you should not encounter any mishaps.
We work very hard and diligently to make sure that everyone has a pleasant stay. Our many reviews speak for themselves.
Again, thank you and always enjoy life to the fullest!

Great place to hang for a quick getaway!!! Friendly staff will attend to your needs. Love the setup of having your boat mourned rigth behind your room sliding glass doors. It's very convinient plus a fish cleaning station as well. Clean rooms and very affordable for the Keys. Definetedly recommend it.

We stayed 5 days in June. This botel is located right on the Vaca Cut making access to both gulf and Atlantic very easy. Great having boat tied up right outside your room, makes loading and unloading a breeze. Rooms were very clean as always. Staff was always helpful and knowledgeable of the area. I have been staying here for years and will continue to return.

Room Tip: No fitness room.

We just love staying here on our two month stay in the winter months. We've been coming here for 5 years now and it's like our own home away from home. We just love Laura and Phil. They keep everything so neat and clean and are a very friendly couple and are both extremely nice. We absolutely love the pool and love to see the beautiful flowers and plants that Laura has planted. We also love the beaches and the stores to shop in. We keep our Dinghy in the canal right outside our room, and that is a real plus. We just jump in it and go out fishing. The Manitees come into the canal also and they are so much fun to watch. After visiting FL for many years this is our favorite place to be. Yes sir, the Royal Hawaiian is the best and so are Laura and Phil. This is truly our Paradise.

Once again, we were lucky enough to enjoy a wonderful stay at the R
HB! Great weather, good fishing, and a typical laid back ambience made for another memorable weekend. You'll find Marathon a lot less crowded after May 15 which makes for a more pleasant vacation. As expected, Laura & Phil, the managers, accomodated all of our needs making us feel very welcome. This time, we made ample use of their pool, the beach nearby, and their fish cleaning station. We were also fortunate to be given some Black Fin Tuna caught by other fishermen staying there. We' ve looked at other places to stay, but in all honesty, this is our "Home Away from Home" D. Padron

Room Tip: Make sure you request rooms with full kitchens, such as: #2,6, or 7

I just can say enough about this place, this was our second visit here, I'll tell you what I love about it. The hotel is cozy, AC works great on a really hot summer day, extremely clean and smells clean. Excellent night's sleep, really quiet place with blackout curtains. The boat dock works great for us, step outside and there's your boat! Located on a canal and in less than 20 seconds you have the bay to one side the Ocean to the other. It's a small place maybe 7 rooms I'd say the people who stay there are recurrent customers, we were talking to a couple from Miami who told us this was their 5th visit! There were a group of serious Fishermen staying there who even offered us some of their catch for dinner. The hotel is older but it is by far better than other's I've stayed at that are bigger and newer.
We will definately keep going back!!

This quaint motel/botel is everything Marathon is about. It is literally on the water where you can dock your boat or just fish from your back door. My room was a kitchenette complete with standard size refrigerator and stove with comfortable bedding and did I say tidy? Yes the entire complex is tropically lush, yet extremely well groomed and maintained. The photo is the view from our room. I give this place five stars.
