We went on the sunset cruise, thinking that we would sail around the area a bit before the sunset, and be able to watch the sun set over the water. First we were a half hour delayed while we waited for a late couple. Captain Dale and Lynn were both friendly and pleasant, but all we did was circle the area beside 7 Mile Bridge, waiting for the sun to set. We inquired about whether we would be going out a bit further to see the sun set over the water, since we had seen the same view from Lazy Days and Sunset Grille, but they said no. So we were watching the sun set (over land) and all of a sudden they turned the boat around and started preparing to return to the shore. We were back well before the glow of the sunset had reached its fullest. I was disappointed in this cruise.

We spent the week in Marathon and rented bikes and kayaks and it was wonderful. A manatee swam right under us and we saw dolphins and flying fish. This is a beautiful place to vacation and would love to retire here and remain barefoot at all times. Great trip and much to do including sailing.

Living in the Keys for 15 years but visiting for an additional 30 years prior, I have seen many changes - many are not good. But I am still in awe of the beautiful and unbelieveable color of the waters here. Sailing you must be careful as many areas are very shallow, and our environment is very fragile. Please abide by all marine laws and anchor only is areas permited. Take only the legal limits of fish to preserve the species so it can thrive for future generations to come - the coral reef in addition to many speices are struggling with the intrusion of cruise ships, garbage and waste, nitrates from the sugar conglomerates on the mainland, and some who do not respect the law or Mother Nature. Enjoy our beautiful ocean and gulf waters - they are something very special and unique.
