Purchase 2 days there via expedia which was very confusing as the price quoted was increased when taken from my credit card. Consequently we found it expensive given that I could have stopped at a top London hotel for the same price. The stairs to the second floor were steep and slippery with poor lighting at night. The headboard was not fitted properly and banged every time you move in bed . The shower tray leaked. It was possible to hear every word of the conversation in the adjacent room. Finally their is a constant drone of fishing boat engines throughout the night with crab boats coming in and out of the adjacent harbour. We cut our trip short as it was not possible to get a good nights sleep with the noise. Not recommend

We stayed 3 nights in the Tree Top room. Very quiet and secluded place to stay, yet just off the highway. You can rent boats on site and Porky's Restaurant is next door. This is a no frills place with no wifi. We just walked over to Porky's and used there's. Full size fridge, microwave & toaster in room. The TV is very small, but you don't go to the key's to watch TV. Only an hour drive to Key West. We wished we would have just stayed and done things in Marathon instead.

This is a great place to stay to spend a day or two fishing as part of a longer holiday down the Keys. This is the second time that I have visited Captain Pips. We normally reserve the use of a Boat and a Fishing Guide as part of our accommodation booking. On both occasions we have stayed in the Grouper Room. This is a reasonably large airy room with a comfortable bed. A little bit dated, but homely and charming. Everything is spotlessly clean, with good bedlinen and plenty of towels are provided. Although the Bathroom is relatively small, the Shower is large and is excellent. There is a large Fridge/ Freezer and Coffee/Tea Making machine in the room. There is a pleasant sheltered Garden area with views overlooking the private boat mooring pier. My Wife spent many hours reading in this quiet spot whilst I was out fishing. Captain Pips runs a fleet of well maintained and equipped boats and I was fortunate to be accompanied by a very good Guide Capt Zach Willis. We had a particularly successful day and caught a lot of very large Yellow Tail snappers, Capt Zach really knows his stuff ! - I hope that he will be available next time I visit. On an adjacent part of the property is Porky's Bar/Restaurant, This is a rather rustic and lively affair serving basket type meals, burgers and the like, Popular with the local fishing/boating community they seem to have live music every evening, we caught Dan Sullivan on a Thurs night who sings lively country music with amusing words, very good ! - a happy place altogether.
