“Fish on line in 30 seconds.”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

We wanted to take our kids 8yo son and 14yo daughter "catching" not just fishing. This trip was perfect.
My son had snapper on his line within 30 seconds. My daughter was just minutes behind.
Wayne and Jason did a great job keeping hooks baited, getting fish off, getting lines back in the water and explaining to us what we were seeing. We enjoyed seeing the different types of fish we caught even when we didn't keep them. They gave us a great experience, everything we asked for.
When we tired of reef fishing we moved to deeper waters. Unfortunately, I only caught a crab. But that doesn't detract from the fabulous experience.
We kept part of our fish. Wayne did a great job filleting them. I hovered trying to learn from him.
And I appreciated his recommendation for cook your catch.
Hopefully we can charter the new Wayne's World on our next visit.

“Not What I Expected”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

One day after a most encredible trip with Jeni-Lynn charters catching huge arm wrenching amberjacks and several trips on the Lady Marathon catching more snapper than we could eat, we decided to do something a bit different. We needed something a little sportier with a little more action. Capt Chris suggested two options an we chose tarpon, shark, and baracuda. Unfortunely the fish just weren't cooperating. We did get a couple of shark bites but didn't land one. Ten nice baracuda strikes and we landed four. Mate Jason was extreemly helpful and the Capt did most everthing he could to find fish but I have two say this was least productive charter in the 9 I have been on. And that would have been Ok until Capt Cris told us that he was not comfortable with the area we were fishing in. I started to wonder why and asked. His response was that this where I asked to go. True, he offered another where could catch numerous snapper. Unfortunetly, I lost respect for Capt Cris, when he raised his voice at me. Fishing is a fickle. The results were disappointing. But its bad form to act direspectful by raising your voice to customer.

When you do several hundred charters a year, you encounter all manner of people. We strive to please each and every group and to exceed their expectations.

In this case, the request was for the 13 y/o grandson to catch some fun-fighting fish. The evening prior we were told his arms were sore from catching amberjack, and they didn't want to catch anymore eating fish, such as snappers. So, reef/wreck fishing was out, and there wasn't enough time to go offshore. The remaining options for fun-fighting fish were to go to the Gulf for Goliath grouper or go to a closer spot for barracuda, sharks and a possible shot at a tarpon. The client chose the latter. There was plenty of action on barracuda with a few landings and many missed opportunities. There were also missed bites on sharks. But, unlike other charter boats, we allow our customers to hook and land their own fish. If they miss the bite - despite our coaching - it's still their experience.

Capt. Chris never raises his voice to customers, despite being goaded as he was on this trip. The customer was condescending beyond imagination, beyond anything we've ever experienced, and actually to the point his wife repeatedly begged him to stop. He accused us of writing our own TripAdvisor reviews and said he never would have fished with us if he knew we've been in business only 10 years. (Capt. Chris has been fishing professionally since he was 12.)

At the conclusion of the trip when the group was back on the dock, we asked the grandson if he had a good time. His response: "That was a blast! Thank you so much!"

“Great fishing trip June 2014”
Reviewed 19 June 2014 via mobile

We had a great time with Capt Wayne - it was me, my husband, and 2 daughters - 9 and 11 years old. On our 4 hour trip, we caught 23 snappers that were keepers and many more that we threw back (b/c of the limit/size). We also caught a sharpnose shark and some other interesting fish. We had the opportunity to also see dolphin, sea turtle, and a manatee.

Capt Wayne was very friendly and helpful! We can't wait to come back next year to fish with SeaSquared Charters

“Keeps Getting Better!”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

This is our second charter in two years with SeaSquared. This time we did the Dinner & Show charter with my wife and two young sons. We released 8 lemon sharks and caught snapper for dinner. Captain Chris Johnson and First Mate Jason Bell were absolutely great with the kids. I can't recommend this charter enough, especially for families. Whether you're an experienced angler of just looking to experience Keys fishing, these folks know how to find fish and have a great time doing it. The only problem is figuring out how to get back here in less than 12 months!

“Great time with the family”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

We took our boys out with Captain Wayne for 3/4 day Reef and Wreck trip. Captain Wayne was great helping us get hooked up right away. He helped the grown-ups, teenagers, and 9 year old with great lessons and patience. We caught a variety of things while yellowtailing and then the teenagers got a kick out some "trophy" Mutton snapper and a big Amber jack in deeper water.
