My son, brother and friend went on a great trip with Captain Bobby Manske. We had to reschedule due to high winds and he took us out the next day after a tournament and with only getting three hours sleep. His sense of humor was excellent. Everyone had a funny nickname after only 30 minutes. We caught great fish and had great laughs all day long. Thanks Bobby!

Another fabulous trip with Captain Bobby Manske out of Burdine's Marina in Marathon Fl. I planned a tarpon trip for my son and I in mid May to celebrate his 16th birthday. Everything cooperated but the weather. A few days out Captain called us and said it would be best to postpone the trip unless we wanted to sit in our hotel and enjoy the wind and rain. Not a lot of Captains will take that tack, it was very much appreciated. So, we rescheduled to 2nd weekend in June. We arrived around 1 PM and checked into Kingsail Motel, (see review). We had a great lunch at Burdine's Marina (see review) and waited for 5 PM, our appointed departure time. The weather was building out of Cuba so we kept a watchful eye on the radar as we left the marina for the short ride to 7 Mile Bridge. Captain positioned the boat in the same spot where I had caught my 1st tarpon the summer before(see review and pics), baits went out and the wait began. We didn't wait long, about 10 minutes, when a BIG tarpon crashed the short right bait, 30 feet from the boat, unbelievable! In what seemed like 3 seconds the huge tarpon jumped some 150 yards away, my son was onto his first tarpon, the game was on, Unfortunately, so was the weather. About 45 minutes into the fight as the skies darkened, the wind came up as the radar filled in, turning from green to yellow to red to orange, the 1st mate got the leader, an official catch! We got a close-up look at the tarpon and the big storm was making a beeline for our position. 1st mate pulled out the slickers, the fight continued. The wind and rain picked up big time the giant tarpon jumped 3 more times, lead us through the bridge to the ocean side and back again. Finally about an hour and 20 minutes into the struggle the fish won the battle as the leader finally wore through from rubbing against the gill plate. We headed back to the marina to dry out and relive the fight. We fished the next 2 mornings and tallied a total of 16 hook-ups and 12 catches, quite a great ratio!
Bottom line, you want to catch tarpon in the middle keys, Captain Bobby Manske, owner operator of Aikatsi Sportfishing is your "MAN".

Capt. Bobby was very knowledgeable and knew all the right spots. Great sense of humor and patience as we must have lost ten big fish (and gear) in the rocks. We did land a few good ones and had a great time. Thanks for a very memorable trip Bobby!
