“Three families with kids all ages”

Just got back from five beautiful days at Tranquility Bay. The resort is beautiful. Service was fine. The younger kids loved it . The teenage boys were a little bored at night. If there would have been girls they would have been fine. Unfortunately, there were heavy winds so boating and any good fishing was out. And that was nature against the big boys. I would highly recommend going to Rainbow Bend Hideaway Cafe for dinner, it was adult outstanding.

We stayed here in mid March for spring break. Friendly and effortless check-in. Our 2 bed, 2 1/2 bath condo was beautifully decorated and very clean. The kitchen was well equiped including granite counter tops. Great pool areas (one adult only) and nice beach with lounges and Tiki Bar. Water sport rentals right on site. The Butterfly Cafe had wonderful food and good service. Plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. Do not miss the sea turtle hospital, right next door. This is the place to stay if you are looking for more than just a hotel room.

We just had a Flying Dentist Association meeting for the week with 55 people attending. We have gone many many places over the years and this ranks right up there with the best. The customer service was outstanding and the place is extremely well kept up. One of the highlights was our closing banquet at the Butterfly Cafe. Terrific food and Doug, in charge of the restaurant, was one of a kind. He knew how to make each of us feel special. I have spent 25 years watching people interact and he certainly has "it" when it comes to customer service. Well done Tranquility Bay. We will be back if I have anything to say about it!

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in February - I did my research on TA and other sites, but it was our first trip to the Keys. We didn't want to stay in Key West since we had our 2 children with us and bar-hopping was not our goal. This hotel is beautiful. The grounds are very well kept, the 2 pools are beautiful and the rooms are quite spacious and clean. That said, there were a few issues that for what we paid (over 2,200) should not have happened. One, there was a pervasive sewer odor that either came from the "dolphin lagoon" outside our townhouse or from the mounds and mounds of seaweed. I reserved a oceanfront room - however, it was right off the lagoon, which is basically an old holding tank type structure - the view was very beautiful, but I was hoping for the "walk onto the beach from our porch" room. The other thing that was less than stellar (but had NOTHING to do with the resort) was the food - there is very little good food to choose from in the Keys, unless you are in key west. The restaurant at the resort was good, however, the service was average. Had we known that this was as good as it would get, we might have gone back. We kept trying other places, hoping to find something delicious! No luck. Even the Stuffed Pig, which was supposed to be terrific, was only okay the day we went. Our eggs were cold, the potatoes were undercooked and the coffee was the WORST I ever drank. And the final unpleasant thing that happened was upon checkout. I knew about the resort fee per night, but was not prepared for the additional $69 per night in taxes, fees, etc - we paid almost an additional $100 per night in fees and taxes. Kind of took me off guard. Again, not the fault of the resort, but is something that maybe should be mentioned when you make your reservation. I even got charged on my "free" night!
The rooms were nice - one of the bedrooms was kind of cramped with 2 twin beds - the closet didn't open unless you moved the bed a little. The master bedroom with the porch out front was GORGEOUS - tons of space, huge porch, 2 chairs, with french doors overlooking the ocean - would have been nice if they didn't all overlook each other's porch and offered a little bit of privacy, but still beautiful. Bathrooms were more than adequate, master bath was huge. Kitchen was fantastic - plenty of room and equipment if you wanted to cook. All in all, it was a lovely resort, just a bit pricey and should have been perfect for the price.

We stayed here for 3 nights the last week in February. It's a beautiful location. The guy that checked us in is a little rough around the edges but checked us in pretty efficiently. Watch the rates at this hotel because they seem to go from like $600-800/night one night and then down to $250/night. When we were checking in, someone stopped in to see what the rates were and the desk clerk wrote down the rate and showed her instead of telling her out loud as there were several of us waiting to check in. I don't like it when hotels manipulate their rates but anyway, we paid $249/night for a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath condo w/ a water view. BEWARE! There is a $24/night resort fee on top of the nightly rate. The guy when we checked in wasn't even sure what it covers but the website does explain. Just something to factor in when considering this Resort. Our condo was clean, nice, and spacious. The full kitchen was awesome! Stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, blender, everything you could need. There is a Publix Grocery Store right down the road. The King size bedroom has french doors out to the balcony. Bed was comfy and resort was quiet. We could hear a little noise coming from the neighboring condo. It's a great place to relax and perfect for a family as the 2nd room has 2 twin beds. It was too cold to use the pool but we enjoyed the beach area. It looked like they were cleaning an area in the ocean so people could swim in the future but right now it doesn't look like there's anywhere you would want to go in. We had a snack at the Tiki bar which was good but a little pricey. They also automatically charge gratuity so don't double tip. Overall, relaxing stay. We would come back if we could find a good rate.

Recommendations in the area: Marathon Kayak, Upper Crust Pizza

Very nice, clean place. Good food at the Tiki bar, however the service was poor. It is not very intelligent to have undeniably poor service and slap an 18% forced gratuity on people.

The resort was great, the room was clean (cleaned everyday), the people we friendly and helpful, the beach was very peaceful and fun for our 2 year old, who truly enjoyed the beach. The grounds were beautiful. We can't say enough about Therese, Otis, and Gerson, who were so professional during our stay.
