4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2013

We booked this trip only a week before departure and Champions World Resort was included in the flight and accommodation package via lastminute.com

The location was a little out of town on the 192/West Irlo Bronson Highway and we didn't hire a car but this wasn't a major problem as there was a free daily shuttle service to the Disney and Universal parks. Magic Kingdom buses departed at 1045 and 1205 and returned at 1945 or 2245. EPCOT buses departed at 0950 or 1205 and returned at 2145. Universal and Seaworld buses departed at 0725 and returned at 1800 (Seaworld) or 1815 (Universal). The timings didn't really fit in with park opening times but I guess it was the same bus doing both trips and couldn't complain as it was a free service. The driver was really helpful and friendly and handed out free lollipops to everyone so I didn't begrudge the $1/$2 tip at all! It was around 45 minutes to Disney and 1 hour to Universal with a few hotel pick ups along 192.

Reception staff were very helpful, although sometimes had to wait a few moments as the receptionist was in the back office. Check out was 11am. Our transfer back to the airport was 1pm but we were able to keep the room for an extra two hours at no extra charge. That was really appreciated as we were able to laze around the pool and spa and got the maximum enjoyment from our last day.

Peter on their tour desk was also very helpful and booked us a tour to Kennedy Space Center. We found tickets into the Disney and Universal parks cost slightly more than on-the-gate prices. We booked Cirque du Soleil tickets directly at the theatre box office and there was on-the-day availability in all category seats. There is also a cheap ticket 'shed' across the road where we paid $140 for a two day Disney ticket (saving us $50). Although it had been used by someone else previously and wasn't supposed to be transferable so we were given the history of use in case asked at the parks. Which we were but all was OK. Luckily the new electronic finger printing system had teething problems (since the card had been used by someone else's fingerprints!) so we were just beeped in by staff. A bit nerve-racking but a good saving!

All areas of the hotel were clean and the bedrooms spacious. Ours had two queen size beds, a TV, fridge (initially set so cold our Coke bottles turned to ice!), microwave (but no crockery or cutlery), table and two chairs, wardrobe with hangers, set of four drawers, bathroom with additional wash basin outside the bathroom and hairdryer. Also free wifi. There were three swimming pools and one spa. We never found time to see the nature reserve but did spot the small gym. We also didn't use the restaurant or bar but they looked OK. There were plenty of vending machines with drink bottles, chocolate, chips/crisps, danish pastries and ice. $2 for a bottle of Coke or water.

Although not pedestrian friendly - as there were no pavements/sidewalks and the grassy areas had sprinklers and we were told snakes though didn't see any! - we did walk out a few times to eat. The choice was McDonalds, Subway, Pizza Hut, Hoolihans, Super Chinese Buffet or Bruno's Italian restaurant. The latter being the best meal of our trip - look for the discount voucher in the room too!

We couldn't fault a thing other than location and being without a car. It was just too difficult to get to International Drive. Either a very expensive taxi ride or three buses taking two hours each way! But I'd stay at Champions World Resort again as excellent value at around £10 per person per night.

I really don,t understand the negative reviws about this hotel, my husband and i spent one week here 2-9th sept 13, we had reservations based on previous comments but need not have worried.
the rooms spacious, clean, no problems with towels - flat scrren tv, tiled floor and position just across from 2nd pool just right - room 158. they are currently renovating blocks closest to fields and nature park but no noise to speak of. Nature park a nice touch. Unfortunately we were involved in a car accident and as i sustained fractured ribs spent most of my time either in room or by pool, however special thanks to erika on reception who was helpful, knowledgeable and helped us with sending of insurance docs etc.Staff seemed happy and helpful and you could continually see activity of cleaning going on throughout the resort. The indoor pool seemed to be a hit for familys it allows children to play with plenty of room for adults to sit and chat, can,t comment on restaurant or shuttles as not used due to my circumstances - my holiday operator holiday genie did advise a car would be advisable due to their posiion however previously have been allocated villas further out than this hotel position so would be happy to book this hotel again based on service we received and excellent price we paid less than 20 pounds anight!

With a family of just the three of us (Mother and two kids). We had come to KIssimmee from the UK. Become we arrived we looked at the reviews on the hotel and they were awful so we weren't looking foreward to the Hotel. But when we got there It was beautiful. The staff was so welcoming. Once we got to our room It was clean and neat. We needed to get to some places cheap and easy. So we asked the front desk. And of course they helped so easily. It was amazing. Unfortuanlty as we were only there for a week and we was so busy going shopping and going Universal we had no chance of checking out the pool which looked all warm and Inviting. It's a good hotel and I recommend It for you're first stay In Kissimmee.

Room Tip: Higher floors are a great way to look over the Hotel especial near the pools and the sunset.

We were looking for relatively cheap accommodation with easy access to the theme parks, and Champions World delivered this. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and the ability to book park tickets from the lobby was really useful. The resort is situated a very short-drive away from a number of restaurants and bars, so there was no shortage of options for eating. The room we initially stayed in was slightly rough around the edges, with a rather battered looking front door lock and noisy air conditioning, but it was very clean. Unfortunately we had to move rooms in the middle of the night, due to a large mirror falling off the wall which was caused by a leak in the bathroom. The overnight security guard handled the situation really well though, organising us a new room within minutes and moving our luggage for us. The new room (situated opposite the outdoor pool) was in a much better condition, so I'd recommend asking for one of these. Overall, a pleasant stay and good value for money.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing.

We did indeed read the incident report filled by our front desk staff with respect to the mirror. The room was immediately taken out of inventory and our facilities engineers have since rectified the cause of the problem leading to the mirror falling. We do sincerely apologize for this.

We are happy to hear that out security watchman was able to immediately assist you and promptly re accommodate you. I have since notified our General Manager for a job well done on his behalf.

Again, our appologies.

We stayed over the labour day long weekend. It was clean, comfortable and staff was corteous and helpful. Location was good and the inhouse ticket counter for disney and universal helped us in getting the tickets.

I loved my stay at this location. The price was unbeatable and the rooms were very good for the range. The amenities were a little outdated, but for a 1-3 night stay while spending most of your time at Disney or another nearby park or attraction, this place is a comfortable place to return to.

My family and I stayed here in August 2013 for a 10-day Orlando vacation. I was looking for a clean, convenient hotel with a nice pool and I got what I was looking for. This is definitely a hotel to consider if you are looking for something clean and well-kept to sleep between theme park visits. We were not looking for a luxury hotel or resort because most of our time was spent outside of the hotel at the area theme parks. We booked a room with 2 double beds and a pull-out couch. When we arrived, I was bit skeptical because the outside door and corridor looked like it needed a bit of a face life. However, I was very pleased when I entered the room. There are clean tile floors, which I appreciate in tropical climates. There was a new mini fridge and flat screen TV in the room. The vanity area was clean and there was a second sink inside the bathroom. The bathroom looked like it was recently renovated with new tile. Again, the bathroom door was poorly painted and had some unpainted spackle on it but that is a minor point. The shower curtain was brand new and spotless. There were plenty of towels left each day. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bedding for the pull out was equally in good condition. When I called the desk for an extra blanked for the pullout, it came quickly. The air conditioning unit worked very well and our room was very chilly! We like it that way!

The outdoor pool was open till 11 PM each night, which is nice when you come back from the theme parks. I found the pool area very nice. The pool was clean and warm. It has a covering over it with skylights so you can swim in rain. My only complaint about the pool was that there never seemed to be pool towels available at any time of the day or night.

If I had one complaint, it was that the made and garbage carts were very noisy on the outside corridor. The maid service starts at approximately 7:30-8:00 AM and the sound of the carts on the concrete pathway was very noisy. We generally like to sleep a bit later on vacation, but were inevitably woken up each morning by the carts.

I would recommend this hotel to families visiting Orlando on a budget.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room so you don't hear people walking above you.

Thank you for your posting!

We are happy to hear that your 10 day vacation was a memorable one and that we were able to provide you and your family a safe, clean, affordable option for your get away! We do indeed cater to guests visiting our area theme parks given our proximity to them. Our rooms, as you so mentioned, have undergone a facelift along with recent installments of flat screen TV's in our rooms.

We will indeed pass along to our house keeping and facilities engineers your concerns with regards to the early morning noises coming from the garbage carts. That can make for some restless sleep, our apologies.

Thank you so much
