The place is nice with a variety of nice facilities available but the rooms and cleaning service really let us down. As you enter the lobby it smells and looks great, however as soon as you go into the hallway for rooms it's actually the most horrid smell ever, they leave the garbage out at all hours. We also did not get any cleaning done while we were here and we stayed a week. Uncomfortable beds. Considering the price it could be better.

Greetings Taylor and welcome back from your recent stay with us. Thanks for sharing your experience. We're glad to hear that your overall impression of the resort was positive. Our housekeeping team has a strict pickup schedule and we are disappointed to hear of your experience around your villa. You're correct, as we are a vacation ownership property, our resort is differs from a traditional hotel by not offering daily housekeeping service. However, this is service is available for you at a nominal fee. We hope to see you again in the future to show you how much fun a vacation with us can be.

Loved the resort! The rooms were very spacious. We stayed at river island which I would highly recommend if you have kids with who want to swim. Was great to have all of the amenities close by. You don't have to leave the property and can still go for a nice dinner. Although we did sit through a timeshare presentation, it wasn't very high pressure. Golfing was great although the rental clubs could be upgraded! Will definitely stay again our next trip!

Thank you for telling us about your experience! We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay at River Island. It is a great area for kids and adults alike, with plenty to do right outside your villa. It’s good to hear you found your presentation to be informative, thank you for attending! We’ll look for you during your next trip to Orlando, and we can’t wait to see you again.

We have stayed at this resort in December for several years now and up until this year things had been fine.

The check-in and checkout process was very quick, probably the quickest we have ever experienced. My husband and I enjoy relaxing in and at the pool and this year we were told that we would have to pay a dollar to rent a tub for the lazy river. It is not bad enough that you are nickled and dimed for everything else, but for the tubes for the lazy river, come on.

On Monday evening of our stay we went to the Tradewinds Bar/Restaurant to enjoy some live. I must say that our dining experience was ruined due to the fact that the bartender was not helping out the serving staff. Our server's name was Chong and she took our initial order of just drinks and my husband watched as the bartender let our order sit to the side for over 10 minutes while he walked around the bar and talked to everyone. The tension between the bartender and our server was really bad. Chong eventually went over and started making our drinks to complete our order. I could have understood a wait if they were really busy, which they were not. I work in the hospitality business and it is unacceptable to have tension between employees that is so bad that the guests/patrons can see it and suffer from it as well.

Hello Scott and Tammy, thank you for staying with us, it’s great to have you as a return guest and we appreciate your loyalty to our resort. We see that your welcome to the resort went well and was efficient, that’s great to see. We’re disappointed to hear about your Tradewinds visit. Quick and friendly service is very important to us and we apologize for this experience. Although some of our amenities come at a fee, there are many activities such as many pools, slides, and kid’s golf that come at no charge. We hope to see you again in the future to show you how much fun vacationing with us can be.

The facility is not that bad. The service of the staff is sub standard. To start off they tried to sell us "wholesale" tickets for the attractions in Florida. Orange Lakes "wholesale" pricing is far from. there are dozens of legitimate ticket outlets that sell for ALLOT less. The hair dryer did not work and a replacement was requested and never replaced. The best staff are the ones that were paid minimum wage. The higher the wage of the staff the ruder and less helpful they were. They automatically add gratuity to your bill even when the service did not warrant it. When we book at this facility we were told it was a resort hotel. IT IS NOT!!!!! It is a time share. They con you into a time share consultation, promising to show you the resort and all the amenities as well as gift coupons for only 90 minutes ofyour time. What they show you instead is two villas only and try to sell you a time lot "points". When you decline the offer they get really pushy. For a two bedroom they start off in peak season at $24,000 dollars. When you decline they drop to $16,000. If you further decline they get really pushy and rude. They didn't offer the unit for $8,000 but asked it I would buy at that price. When we declined again and got rude with them they then sent in a real pushy and rude salesman who tried again by offering us a "free" week stay for us to reconsider. We said we would try the "free" week then he tried to bill us for the week over 12 equal payments. This took 4 hours. Do not take the consultation. After being down in Florida for three weeks there allot of nicer options with allot better pricing. This facility at best is a 2 star resort. They also over charge for all the services. If you have the option try to stay at one of Universal Studios hotel resorts, there is allot of benefits to Universal Studios. There allot better time shares as well if you are looking for a time share. We have traveled all over the world and this facility is one of the worst values for your money.

Room Tip: Don't book at Orange lake. Try one of the Universal Studios hotels. If you have to stay at Orang...

Just spent 8 nights at Orange Lake in the West Village. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit. The unit was nicely equipped, with a full kitchen and full sized washer/dryer. Everything was recently renovated. We called for extra towels etc and they brought them right away. I have no complaints about the unit at all.
A lot of people complained here about the timeshare presentation. We did do the presentation, but they really weren't that pushy, probably because we do own timeshare and we know whats a good deal and not. It can be a real annoyance when you don't know what you are getting into, but it's Orlando timeshare, and you just have to suffer through it to get whatever you agreed to be gifted for....
The resort itself is huge! You definitely need a car to get around. I did see people waiting for shuttles, but that could get really annoying. I would say our biggest disappointment was River Island. The water was freezing, and to pay for tubes for their "lazy river" would have been just a waste. My kids really enjoyed the pool at the west village clubhouse much better. Every day around 4 pm they had a "fun team" that made balloons, did face painting, and played games with all the kids. Plus the water was much warmer in the west village pool.
My kids loved the arcade as well. I dropped some serious cash there over the course of the week as well.
As for restaurants, we ate at a few onsite. Food was decent, The hotel is along the 192 strip where there is almost every chain restaurant available. No shortage of dining choices in the area.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Orange Lake and would definitely recommend to friends. You just have to keep in mind that Orlando is one of the biggest timeshare areas in the world, so you will be hassled to do a tour.

Room Tip: River Island Village has the newest rooms, so that is probably the best place to stay if you can. We...

We’re glad to hear that our staff was able to provide some fun for you as well. You’re right; we are a vacation ownership resort and our sales tours are a great way to learn about a better alternative to traditional vacations. The location of the property is great to take in all that Orlando has to offer with great restaurants, activities, and attractions very close nearby. Thanks for your recommendation and we hope to see you again soon for more family fun!

It is always nice to read reviews here on Tripadvisor before going somewhere. I do however keep an open mind that some will always have a unpleasant time at places . If you have a bad time at Orange lake , or read of one , it is no bodies fault but the person writing the review. This place is first class and consumer minded. They've got it right . Now we stayed in the Signature condos and nothing could have been better . A most helpful conciegnor in Melinda on 8th floor! She was always there to help us with entertainment off and on the grounds , directions or suggestions. We stayed for 12 days and and we could have stayed for a life time ! There are many places close to Orange lake to see ,do, eat and play . Of course the big draw at Orange Lake are the golf courses . Sorry to say I'm not a golfer , but I am sure a round or 2 here would be one to brag about in your future. Off park is of course DisneyWorld . The little boy came out in me and my wife fell captive to all the stars of our childhood. Of course a trip to Epcot is a must for the adults. If you ever read some of my reviews here on TA ,your'll know I'm pretty much a straight shooter. Make Orange Lake River Island a bucket list trip and when you complete your trip you will want to return !
