Large resort with many activities to do. They have many different size condo's. We stayed in the 3b/3b this time but have stayed in the 2/2 before as well. They are always clean and have everything you need. If you need anything else they come out to your unit right away. The property is well kept up and only minutes from the main gate of Disney. We spent a lot of time at the lazy river. My kids really enjoyed it. They do charge $9 a day for tube rental however. I really think if they are going to charge it should be less, at least for the owners anyhow. They pay so much in resort fees as it is. If you like gulf this is a great place to stay as well. I would stay again.

Thanks so much for your return visit! We’re glad that you continue to enjoy our resort and feel right at home in our spacious villas. It’s great to see that both kids and adults had a great time in the lazy river, definitely a highlight of the River Island area. We try to offer a wide variety of activities for our guests so that there’s no limit to the fun and a little of something for everyone. We hope to see you again soon!

Fantastic family resort, feels like a world of its own with all the activities!!! The hey ski rentals were comparable in price to local company's so there was no reason to leave the resort, the variety of food and drinks were plentiful enough to provide us with a different choice every day for the week and the poolside games were a favorite of the kids and adults alike. We did do Disney a couple days and were super happy with the location, as it was less than 15 minutes from the resort! We will definitely be back!!!

Hello April! It was a privilege to recently host you during your family getaway to Orange Lake Resort. We really try to offer a resort experience that gives everyone a chance to have some fun! With plenty of restaurants, activities, and fun to go around, we don’t want to give our guest a reason to leave. However, we’re close to all the attractions, shopping, and dining there is in town so you’re just moments away from the highlights of the Orlando area. It’s great to see you’re thinking of visiting again and we hope to see you all again real soon!

Orange lakes is a time share resort but having said that you are able to book without owning. I thought the price was very good value for money and there were only 3 of us so even better value the more guests.
When we arrived & checked in there was a young lady waiting to take me to another desk where they tried to persuade me into going on a time share tour but luckily I had read reviews about this so expected it. They tried fairly hard to get me to take it up but gave up after I stood my ground. (They offer $20 voucher to spend in resort) just tell them at check in that you don't want it.
The apartment was very clean, there was plenty of space and everything you would need.
My one criticism would be the distance from the entrance and we had to drive to the pools, however not everyone can have the prime position accommodation and once we had arrived at the pool we were there for the day so not a hardship. We would have liked to have walked to the local restaurants but it was too far just to get to the entrance.
We had some lovely 'guests' each morning in the way of ducks, cranes, armadillos and even an alligator in the lake, excellent we loved that.
All in all a great place to stay and the odd negative comment I have made won't apply to everyone.

It was great to have you and your family with us recently, Jan! Thanks for allowing us to host you during your Orlando-area holiday. We’re glad that you found our resort to be a good value for you overall and spacious enough for a comfortable, relaxing experience. Our resort does offer a resort shuttle that is able to take you wherever you need to go on property and is just minutes away from most of the highlights in Orlando. We hope to see you all again soon for more vacation fun!

The resort had everything you needed. Went on a church trip with nearly 50 people, including little children. Accommodated everyone of all ages. There are many things to do on-site and especially off-site. It's a great location, clean, safe, and friendly environment.

Room Tip: Get a villa if you can! Very spacious!

We stayed here as points members of RCI the 3rd week of June, 2014. Upon check-in, we were pressured pretty hard to take their hour long RCI Tour of the resort. We were told it was only offered at check-in and if we said no then we would not be able to change our minds. Two days later, we received an 8AM phone call asking if we were interested in an hour long RCI tour of the resort...... Supposedly, this was all for "our" benefit and they wouldn't ask us to purchase anything. Yeah, right. Once we got checked in, the room was really nice. We were in the West Village near the highway. The noise level was quite high and emergency vehicles were going by on a regular basis. However, it wasn't unbearable. It didn't take long for us to realize that just about everything was going to cost us money. The only complementary services were parking, the on-site resort shuttle (does not leave the resort), and sort of the pools. They have a few water parks on the resort. Other water parks I have gone to that have required pool equipment will provide it to you free of charge. However, the River Island (I think it was called) has a specific tube that they require you to use and they will charge you $9 a tube to use them. They do not allow any other tubes in the park. My youngest uses a small tube to swim around in, and they made her get out of the pool because the tube was deemed unsafe by the resort. Tubes for smaller children must have a seat built into it. YEAH.....because my 5-year old needs a tube with a seat??? She feels comfortable in the water with the small tube, and she will not swim without it. So, we ended up having to leave that water park which made our kids quite upset as that water park has the big water slides and the big lazy river. Their blue tubes they rent out would have been even less safe for my 5-year old as they are way too large for her to safely swim with. However, that wasn't even the biggest problem with the pools. All of the pools had a lot of trash floating around in them. In the lazy river, there was a lot of debris from the landscaping as well, but there was a lot of trash. When I say trash, it was actual trash. Pieces of plastic, paper, tissues, and just random bits of garbage. Later that day, I had need to use the business center. It was, of course, not complementary. They have an elaborate payment system that uses magnetic strip cards. They charge you $0.25 a minute to use the computer and then $0.75 per sheet of paper to print. I ended up spending almost $20 to use the computer for 15 minutes and to print out some papers we needed. A lot of resorts in the Orlando area offer complementary transport to and from the area's attractions. This resort does have transportation like that, however you will have to pay for it. If you are expecting to do laundry here, it may take running the dryer 3 or 4 times to get your clothes dry. Last, but not least, several resorts in the area will charge a room cleaning fee of $20 to $40. This resort's cleaning fee is over $100 (the only one in the Orlando area with that high of a price). I gave it a "poor" rating instead of a "terrible" because the room was pretty nice. However, I gave it a "poor" rating because here at this resort it is all about the money and not about the guests.

Room Tip: If you are going to stay here, don't stay near the highway as it is very loud.

Hello, Scott. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. It’s great to see that you utilized RCI to find us as your recent vacation host. We’re sorry to hear that there wasn’t enough time in your plans to take part in an informative tour of the property. It looks like that you found your villa to be well appointed and comfortable, we’re glad to hear it. You’re right; some of our amenities on-site do come at a nominal fee. However, the majority of our amenities such as water slides, basketball, tennis, use of our many pools, and kids’ golf come at no additional cost to you. For the safety of our guests, outside floats are unfortunately not allowed in the River Island pool area. You are more than welcome to use outside floats and toys in any of our other pools on property. It’s disappointing to hear about the conditions of the pools you experienced during your visit. We constantly have staff that cares for and attends to the quality of our pools. We apologize if this caused any inconvenience for you. Our hope is that you consider us in the future where we will look to exceed your expectations and provide plenty of vacation fun. Thank you again for your feedback.

While we knew this was a timeshare experience, we couldn't have been PAID to own this. FIrst the decor is old and needs replacing badly. Our beds had sheets on them that didn't fit and because of this, our sheet ripped the second night at the resort. Our toilet was broken so it leaked and ran for two nights before we finally got it fixed. Our carpet was absolutely filthy turning the bottoms of my feet BLACK when I walked around barefoot. The pools were dirty and the chemicals left a rash on my skin for DAYS. There were cockroaches in the elevators that climbed in and out at will floor to floor. There were soiled towels left EVERYWHERE outside including on the roof and in the palm trees. There was old food under the bed and couches, the shower head was old and outdated. The decor was old and dusty. The TV remote was out of a battery and finally, to insult me further, the time share sales staff is obnoxious. Overall, it was kind of gross and out of date.

Room Tip: If you don't have to listen to the timeshare pitch... and you are just staying there... insist o...

If you have a family this is the place to stay, this place has everything needed for your stay. The units are clean and spacious, all units are self contained and contain washer/dryer, fridge, cooker and washing machine. The resort provides cleaning materials required. There are plenty of pools throughout the resort with golf, tennis and water sports. The resort staff are very accommodating and nothing is too much hassle, and any problems are resolved by a quick phone call. I have already arranged for my next return trip.
