“If you are a history buff...”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Do not miss this place. It is a collection of semi-restored buildings filled with stuff for Florida's past. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a hour long tour for $5 each. We learned about Florida's history and how people lived in the old days. Well worth the time. Something other than spendy theme parks. Osceola County also has a very nice indoor museum about a mile away. Ask for directions. The facility is only about 1 year old. It has high quality exhibits about Florida's history. It is free! Combine the tow places for a great 1/2 day activity.

“A secret little place that is charming !”
Reviewed 7 November 2013 via mobile

Found this place on TripAdvisor and it was around the corner from our villa. Charming little group of historic houses and buildings. Everyone was extremely friendly and our six year old granddaughter and two year old grandson loved it. They especially loved The old School House , we couldn't get them out.!! Went back for a second visit even!!!! Highly recommend it as a place for a little quiet time amongst the theme park days. Well done !

“Cutest pumpkin patch”
Reviewed 21 October 2013 via mobile

We visited the museum today, actually a village of homes relocated to this beautiful piece of property with an amazing hammock of oak trees. They have an adorable pumpkin patch that we were able to take family pictures at though they only have a few pumpkins left. Great tour and very friendly staff. Fun alternative to touristy spots in the Orlando area.

“Great place away from Mickey”
Reviewed 18 October 2013 via mobile

I found this place on trip adviser. It cost $5 to get in and it took about an hour to see round. Guide was knowledgable and fun. Really interesting. Nice attraction away from Parks etc.
good to see history that doesn't include Micr or roller coasters.

“Local history”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

This museum is currently 2 sites - the village and the museum (I believe the village is moving next year!). The village site is very interesting. The 2 ladies that showed us round were very knowledgable and entertaining. We were free to ask as many questions as we like, and the building gave a real feel for what life was like for locals a century ago.
We also visited the very new museum building, which again was very interesting. There is a lot of information to take in, and after many years visiting the area I now feel I know about the area.
All in all an excellent experience I would recommend to every visitor - you can take an hour or so, or a whole day if you read everying (like my hubby!).
