“Small but fun, limited hours”

I have been here more than once, It's really interesting for people from parts of the country or world that don't get to see swamps. My friends from Saudi Arabia said it felt like being in a movie. I'm pretty sure it's only open one weekend day per week for the public.

“Still a long name. But still a very nice one.”

Went there again and and very good viewing of gators (small & large), turtles nad very large spiders.... Unfortunately my daughter Ellen got stung by a hairy object which later turned out to be a puss caterpilar, a venomous caterpillar species. The caterpillar has the appearance of a piece of fluffy cotton, but is the opposite....

But still, the center itself is worhtwhile!

“A long name. For a short visit. But a very nice one!”

If you are staying in or nearby Kissimmee, love nature and don't want to drive half an hour to get there, look no further. A small museum with local stuffed animals (incl. Bear, panther, bobcat etc) and a very old but interesting movie. In factbthebmuseumis very similar to a small visitor centre at one of the nations National Parks. Enjoyable!

Apart from that there is a boardwalk loop that takes you through the dense forest full of cypresses and wildlife. Look out for snakes, raccoons etc. About half way (15 minutes or so) there is a very nice viewpoint along a creek. During our visit we saw turtles, herons, egrets and alligator there.

It' s a very nice place for a visit of one or two hours. And it's FREE! Pay attention to the opening hour though, usually only open on saturday and sunday!
