Vacation Village at Parkway
Reviewed 15 November 2013

Amazing vacation with my boys (March 2013) father in law is a timeshare holder. We had a one bedroom which was very spacious, clean and well stocked. Washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful terrace overlooking pond with fountain (which you could see the fireworks from disney) dining area, living room, bedroom with a king size bed, a massive bathroom with oversized jaquizzi tub & gorgeous pools. Couldn't ask for anything more here, everything you need. All parks were literally no more than a 20 minute drive away. Publix across the street and tones of eating establishments and souvenir shops on the W. Irlo Bronson Memorial. Can't say enough good things about this resort. I would recommend this resort for sure!! We had an incredible vacation, booked already for 2015

My wife, her brothers and I were able to use my mother in law's time share at Vacation Village. Initial perceptions were positive as they checked us in quickly and called for a shuttle to our room. After check in we got the Time Share welcome breakfast invitation. We all new they were going to try to sell us something but we all thought a free breakfast would be nice so half a day lost wouldn't be all that bad. We were wrong on that account. More on that later.

We get to the room and it is a nice two bedroom and two living room type space so we weren't all crammed into one spot. It had a nice kitchen and great shower and jet tub. Overall the room was very nice and clean.

Now came the "free" breakfast sales pitch. We go down to the welcome center where there are about 20 other couples and families. Check in and sit down in a large room, with no food in site. We over here a couple of the sales people as they come to talk with the other groups and here that the breakfast isn't here but off site at a restaurant. We were never told that we would have to leave the site and possibly get into a car (we didn't rent a car of the trip) with a stranger we have never met before. Very mad we left the room making sure all the people there new why we were leaving. On check out we also told two couples that the breakfast wasn't on site and got glares from the sales people.

With that behind us we went about our vacation but found that my wife and I had weird bug bites on our legs. It was fairly warm the whole time so the covers were only over our legs. We searched the covers and mattress for bed bugs but didn't find any evidence. Things got worse on our last night when we found bug bites up on our arms. We told the front desk but they denied it was bed bugs and I doubt they did anything about it.

Also, they were very proud that they had a free shuttle that could take you from your room anywhere in a two mile radius. The first day we called for the shuttle to pick us up and take us to the grocery store to get some food. They told us that they would call the room when it was there. 45min later there was no call so I call the front desk. The lady sounded uninterested and said that it would be a few more minutes. 30min later there was still no call or shuttle so we walked there and back. The whole week we were there we only took the shuttle once and that was just because it happened to be in front of our building when we were leaving.

Overall, this property was a terrible experience. The only plus was the room was pretty nice but that in no way makes up for the lack of service and the misleading nature of the staff. We will never be going back to this Vacation Village and probably not any other of their properties.

Room Tip: If you are still going to this location after my review ask for building 15 or 16 as these are the m...

We stayed in Building 17. We had two two bedroom units right across from each other. I was really afraid after reading the reviews that we would end up in an older building that had not been renovate. The units we were in was wonderful, clean, modern spacious. Usually when we rent a two bedroom, one room would be the master and the other unit would be much smaller. The only difference in building 17 is that the C unit does not have a full stove and oven combo. It has a cook top and a convection oven. The kitchen is a mirror image otherwise. Exact same square footage in each unit A or C. There were a washer and dryer in both the A & C unit. So we had 4 kitchens & 4 washer & dryer. There only 8 of us so we all had a bedroom with a king bed. Everybody had a great time. The pool was lovely. I loved that you go down in the elevator and walk into the pool area. Our pool was share between building 16 & 17. It was a little busy during check in but once we were in front of reception it was very quick. The work out room was tiny and I thought it smell like cleaning chemicals. Internet was slow which is very typical in these time shares. We also spend alot of time on the balcony.Overall we had a wonderful time.

Room Tip: The newer buildings like 16 & 17 are definetly the ones to go for. I understand alot of the olde...

Very close to the Disney parks and easy access to Route 4 make this a central location for vacationers in the Orlando area. Buildings are well maintained, with large rooms and plentiful amount of swimming pools. The building I stayed in was not yet updated, but very nice overall.
Pullout coaches are not really an option for adults to sleep on.

Staff provides high service and friendly attitudes.

Bring shampoo and conditioner - not provided by the property!

Room Tip: Ask for an updated building

Just returned home from our stay in Orlando. We stayed in building 16 10th floor. Amazing view of pool and Disney. We were able to watch the fireworks at night. Clean updated units with everything you need at home. Flat screen TV's in all rooms dish washers, washer dryers, just an easy stay and nice to go home with everything clean. At the resort, we enjoyed the heated pools and activities with DAVID the activities guide.

Room Tip: Relax and enjoy yourself.

I was a little concerned after reading reviews, but after spending the past week at Vacation Village I was very satisified with our accommodations. Very nice 2 bdrm condo with 2 fully stocked kitchens w/granite counters, 2baths, TV in both bdrms and both living areas and washer and dryer in both units. Condo was very clean, plenty of towels. Comfortable beds and nice furniture. Beautiful pool and huge hot tub.Very close to all theme parks hand Publix supermarket across the street. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend Vacation Village. Someone had mentioned bugs in their review, we did not experience that at all. We stayed in bldg 16 room 102.

Room Tip: After reading previous reviews we requested one of the higher building #'s. We were accommodated...

I guess if I didnt experience two other resorts with different company I would have not been so dissapointed. First of all upon check in the young girl at guest services couldnt be any less disinterested that she was. Very much a turn off coming from the others that were so inviting. Second. Upon entering the unit which was newly renovated the first thing I saw was a very rusty burner. I went to the fridge to put in a bottle of water and there was a hair cling to the door with a few crumbs also on the door, crumbs on the table in the dining area as well as the end table in the living room. Very much a turn off especially seeing a hair on the refrigerator. There was no coffee or any other snacks in the kitchen where in the two others there was. I certainly wouldnt buy here. Oh by the way my 10 year old grandson who can sleep practically anywhere said the pull out bed in the livingroom was so bad that he couldnt sleep all night, I did notice this when I made up his bed.,
