We rented a unit from a private owner on vrbo.com. The unit was very clean and furniture and bed were very comfy. The location is a great central location for SeaWorld, Disney and Universal. There was a pool available but we never had a chance to use it.

The cons to me were the condo seemed to be sparsely furnished as far as kitchen ware. There is a coffeepot but no filters. Thankfully, there is a Walmart only a stones throw away to pick up any essentials. Also, the walls seemed thin. We could hear talking and lots of banging around next door. Also could hear people stomping around upstairs.

Overall, this is a nice place if you want to be central to theme parks, and it was clean and comfortable, but we will probably stay elsewhere when we come to Florida again.

We selected this place based on location and wanted something big to sleep our group of 5 with a kitchen. First impression was it was dirty! Couches looked grimy, floors stained, baseboards filthy. Also A/C didn't work first 3 of 5 days. No phone in unit. No working hairdryers. Management took off some fees at checkout, but would not return. I have since heard that units are privately owned and may have different degrees of upkeep. Would not rent through the main office without knowing exactly which unit you are getting.

We decided to take a trip up to Disney for the weekend with friends of ours so we rented 2 rooms. We had nothing but issues from check in. First, when you go in and turn on the lights BEWARE of roaches. They are under construction so we had a huge dumpster filled with garbage in front of our unit and to make matters worse the construction worker decided to take up 4 spaces in the front of the unit we rented with his truck and trailer. Getting four kids out of the car after a late night in Disney was so much fun with no parking and trying to carry them around a dumpster, truck, and trailer.
Then be prepared to be suddenly woken up at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning from that same construction guy that parked his truck in 4 spaces banging on your bedroom wall. I was scared to death I thought someone got into the room. Also, there are parties going on until 4 am with people drinking on their porches and there is no security or anyone to do anything about it. Only one girl at the front desk all night. Also, the faucet in the master bedroom just comes off when turning it on and housekeeping barges into the room without waiting for someone to come to the door while smoking while they claim to be a non smoking facility. Stay far away from this place there's no management around and many issues.

We rented privately for our stay in February, 2013 from an owner (VRBO). We were greeted by a friendly front desk person during check in at the Club house and all went smoothly. We were given a gate access card and directions to the unit. Upon arrival we found the unit absolutely spotless! We couldn't have cleaned it better ourselves. We were in a second floor unit with a kitchen view of the pond. Very pretty. We had more than adequate towels and extra linens in the closet. There were some supplies left for us ( paper towels, toilet paper, bar soap) which was thoughtful, but we had anticipated a trip to the store. We did have a few issues, however during our stay:
(1) Our kids (teenagers) each had a pull out sofa for the week long stay. We never expected that the sofa beds would be as comfortable as a regular bed, but one was literally falling apart and being held together with a wire coat hanger. The other sofa bed wasn't far behind. The kids managed and luckily were pretty tired out by the end of each day and just crashed. I did report this condition to the owners after our trip and they said they followed up stating that the sofa beds had been repaired and new mattresses purchased.
(2) We had a problem with our A/C one morning and I texted our local contact person. Repairs were made and it was up and running when we returned from the park that day. Perfect!
(3) Noise from neighbors coming home very late from the parks(?) was a huge issue for us. Obviously, when these buildings were constructed they were very poorly insulated for sound. We could here the movie being played next door for the kids while we were in bed (word for word, night after night until they checked out. I now know every word of the Lion King!). In fairness to the management on site, we did not report this so I can not comment as to how it would have been handled. We just kept waiting for it to stop thinking they'll go to bed soon. Our own fault that we continued to suffer. Additionally, the people on the first floor were fighting one night as well. Priceless.
(4) There was an foul odor in the lower entry foyer coming from first floor unit. Perhaps their trash or maybe cooking?
(5) We're thinking that this is more 1/2 vacation/tourist rentals and 1/2 residential/year rounders. There seemed to be a lot of hanging around on the front stoop kind of stuff. Not what we were looking for in a vacation resort. We never had any problems, just a bit less than we expected.
Again, all in all it was an average stay. We received a great rate and it is minutes to the parks and shopping. Would we stay here again? No. Too many other places to give a try. Is it terrible? Nope. Nice looking buildings, pool/grounds are overall very nice, we didn't have a chance to use the pool area. We would just rather see what else is out there.

We rented a deluxe King Bedroom for our disney vacation in Orlando from the runaway Beach club. The price was high(we paid about $99 /night). The location of the hotel is far from the disney world. With regard to the room, the bed needs to be updated. They do have a pool for the children. Overall, I think it was an OK stay.

My family and I stayed at the Runaway Beach Club for three nights and loved it. The location of the hotel is very close to everything. The two bedroom villa was a perfect size for my family of five. It was very kid friendly. The pools were amazing. Our room had a full kitchen, washer/dryer and the living room had two pull out couches. The rooms were very clean and the hotel staff was very friendly. It felt like home away from home. I can't wait to book our next vacation here.

Ended up at Runaway Beach Club on accident after another resort in the area we booked was horrible. Runaway Beach Club is 1st of all in an ideal location if doing the parks in Orlando. We were all of 5 mins to downtown Disney. There is also a Walmart and Grocery store with in walking distance to the resort The room itself was nice we were in a 2 bedroom condo, good size living room, kitchen, and dinning area. Master bedroom was nice and master bath was huge! Second bedroom had 2 queens beds which worked out great for my brother and sister in law traveling with us. Room had a full size washer and dryer which worked out perfect since we were there for 2 weeks. Pool was very nice and they had a separate splash pad area for the little ones! Will defiantly stay here again!!!!!!!!!!!!
