We came to orlando for the new year with the kids for Disney and seen this place on line looked nice but questionable it's a little dated but they are working on making it better. Upon arrival we were checked checked in buy heather she was so nice and help full. We got to are room and it was ok mismatch furniture and stuff but clean. The location was great walking distance to old town and fun spot. We did have a issue with are kitchen sink drain leaking so we call front desk and spoke to heather again she was nice and call maintenance and they came quickly roger looked at it and said he would be back with his supervisor jim they were both so nice fixed it and also cleaned up the mess and jim was very apologetic about the problem first class help.. I would definitely go back and tell friends and family I know it's not a 5 star resort but for the money it's great and the improvements will be better and better.. Thank you for a great stay

Reviewed 6 January 2014

Let me start off this review by saying we could have had a much better experience at Celebration Suites than we did. Had everything not gone horribly from the get-go we would have overlooked a lot of the issues we experienced.

We went as a family trip (My parents, Sister & her Boyfriend, My husband and Myself); a Christmas gift. My parents, being their first time travelling were very nervous. My mom called to confirm the rooms we requested with a lady named Heather. Heather told us that we were already assigned rooms, that we were not side-by-side, but that we were near the front of the hotel complex. My mother stressed that we wanted to be near the front of the complex because we had no mode of transportation and were walking everywhere. She also told Heather that we would not be bothered by the loud noises from Old Town/Fun Spot, we just really wanted to be closer to the front.

We arrived at Celebration at 3:45pm on December 27th. There was a little bit of a line to check-in, but that's normal sometimes. We were surprised when we got our room keys & map that we were in Building 'M' - at the VERY back of the complex!! What happened to the rooms that were 'assigned' to us by Heather? It's not like we were late checking in. Needless to say, my parents were not happy from this point on...

We walked all the way back to the rooms 2385 & 2386; we asked if there was someone who could help us with our bags, there wasn't. My parents stayed in room 2385, the rest of us in 2386. Over the course of our stay, we contacted the front desk about all of the following:

2385: Telephone in bedroom did not work, patio door would not open/close properly, Remote didn't work for TV in bedroom.
2386: Very bad smell upon walking into room, bathtub didn't drain, sink in back room didn't work/drain, TV in bedroom didn't work, A/C in living room wasn't cooling properly.

We're a pretty laid-back, average family, so like I said - we probably wouldn't have been so picky if we hadn't have started off on the wrong foot.

'Continental' Breakfast isn't worth it $2 each for your choice of 3 including: granola bars, yogurt, cereal, milk, water, Sunny D. Breakfast was only a couple dollars more across the street at Denny's!

We would have also preferred that the hotel provide patio furniture on the balconies for people who abide by their rules and smoke outside. (Even though we saw burn holes in the countertop in the bathroom)

The pool area was nice, the water and area around were both kept clean. It would be a good investment for Celebration to install a hot tub for people to soak in after a long day at Disney!!

The best thing about this hotel was it's location & proximity to attractions! only a short shuttle ride to Disney & Universal and right beside Old Town & Fun Spot!! Great location, I just really hope the hotel could work to improve their issues.

We had another issue with the Shuttle to Universal Studios. The whole 'first come first serve' notion should be replaced by 'free-for-all, RUN'. The shuttle was running about 45-60mins late (it was nice of Bonnie to come out and tell us this). But when the shuttle did arrive, it was full and closed the doors right in front of our faces, and only offered an explanation after locking us out. We're nice people, we didn't push and scrape to get to the front of the line. The shuttle came and it was standing room only and packed clear up to the front doors!

We went to the front desk and complained to Bonnie and asked to speak to whomever was the highest Supervisor on-site. She then told us that she wasn't 'very high up the food chain' and said she would call us another shuttle. We had a cab come for us and another family. You would have expected the hotel to pay for this mix-up to keep their customers happy (and since no one on the free shuttle had to pay), they didn't...

Building 'M' is supposed to be quieter than the closer buildings... don't count on it, you'll get idiots whichever building you're assigned to. Almost the entire time we were there their was this one person(s) that opened all four doors to their car and locked them (beep beep) repeatedly during the course of the night, kept us up until 3am most nights.

A final complaint was that Bonnie had horrible customer service skills. She was very short with us when we were frustrated or expressing concerns, even acting like we hadn't previously spoken to her! She mislead my mom and sister when they were asking to use a computer (btw, the 'Business Centre' doesn't have computers, you have to use the ones in the lobby if you won't have a laptop).

The hotel did nothing to try to make our stay any better, they 'looked' for a closer vacant room for us, but there was none available... but it still leaves me wondering, what happened to the rooms that were originally 'assigned' to us??

You're right—the customer service you received is embarrassing and we should have done better in communicating with you what we could and could not do. Our agents generally will tell all guests that special room requests cannot be guaranteed, but that we will make every attempt to honor every requests. However, during the week of Christmas & New Year's, the hotel is sold out for about a 14-day period and with the volume of guest requests, we are unable to honor each and every one. But, regardless, we should have made you aware of the challenge during this time of year as usually we are able to honor most, if not every, guest request when it comes to room assignments. It's apparent we fell short for you and we will work on this immediately so thank you for bringing the situation to our attention.

It also seems that there was some confusion before you checked in, and we apologize, but we'll definitely discuss it with our whole team. We should have made available staff to help you with the luggage as we generally do have staff who can assist our guests with this. In the meantime, don't hesitate to email us at info(at)celebrationsuitesfl.com so we can make this right. We hope to hear from you soon and thank you for making us aware of these issues so we can correct them.

Best,
Celebration Suites Management

I am not writing this review to bash the hotel but to compliment it. I am writing this review to write about what I mostly enjoyed, and that was the front desk staff. Although the hotel is not all that updated, the employees at the front desk are remarkable. There was one young lady in particular that was very polite, professional, and so kind her name was Lilianna. Not sure if I spelt it correctly, I apologize if I didn't. Even before arriving to the hotel she was very helpful and attentive. She was the same young lady who made my reservation and accommodated us so well with the location and all. Every request I made to her she made sure that we got it. We arrived very late to the hotel only to find out she was the same young lady we had spoken to over the phone. She greeted with a smile, and answered every question with lots of detail. For her we are very grateful!!! To Celebration Suites great job picking your front desk staff. People this is not a 5 star hotel but it definitely is a good place to stay. The rooms are spacious, beds were very comfortable, and the location AMAZING! We will definitely return next year and hope to see all you ladies there.

Room Tip: Stay close to the lobby, free WIFI is only available in building B.

My family ( including our fur family member ) and I stayed during Christmas and we had a great stay. The rooms were huge and clean. The staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the proximity to Old Town and Fun Spot. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have decided to make an annual trip to Florida and will stay here when we do.

We arrived on Boxing day around 3 pm. We were told that our room was not ready and to check back in an hour. We came back at 4:30 and were told room still wasn't ready but they would try to give us another room. Not sure if it would have helped if we had waited but the room they gave us was awful. Room was dirty and decor was very tired. Beds were clean but linens were threadbare. There were clothes in the closet, I assume were from the previous guests. We were exhausted and since we really were only sleeping there we decided to stay as we knew everywhere around us was sold out. It was very handy being so close to Old Town.
When we got back to our room we were exhausted and since we knew we had an busy day the next day we decided to turn in. At midnight we were wakened by a loud clicking and banging noise which happened approximately every 1/2 hour. Around 2:30 am we discovered that the compressor in the fridge was causing the noise. We unplugged the fridge and tried to get some sleep. At 3:30 am we were wakened by the garbage dumpsters being emptied, not once but three times. At 6:30 am we were wakened again by a dump truck that sat outside our room and reved his engine for approximately 25 mins. Since the bus to Disney was at 8:50 we needed to get up and get ready and get some "breakfast" what a joke. Don't bother with the breakfast!
The return shuttle bus was at 10:10 pm. We were at the bus stop at 10:00 pm. Our bus didnt turn up until 10:50 no apology, nothing. People were pushing and shoving to try and get on the bus. They need to look into the shuttle service.
We were exhausted but were smart enough to unplug the fridge before going to bed, but there was nothing we could do about the garbage pick up. Again, twice in the middle of the night. They seriously need to move the garbage dumpsters or not put people in those rooms.
Shuttle service wasn't much better the next day.
So in closing, they need to upgrade the rooms and linens, rooms need to be cleaned better. Take a look at the appliances, move the garbage bins, get better transportation, but like I said, Never again!

Thanks for taking the time to share your story. It's disappointing that you weren't able to get a good night's sleep with us, but we would have been happy to address the issue with your fridge to avoid that. And, we'll investigate the trash pickup issue as this is quite surprising and unusual that they would be taking the trash at 3:30am. That's not normal at all.

It seems that there was an issue with your shuttle as well and occassionally, as with all forms of transportation (planes, trains, buses) that delays occur due to mechanical issues or unforeseen traffic caused by accidents on the road, etc. This may have occurred - we're not entirely sure because we are not aware of any other complaints during your dates of stay but it was during peak season when traffic was at it's heaviest in Orlando on all the freeways and local roads around the Disney Resort area.

There's always room for improvement, and we really appreciate your candor. We'll keep all of your suggestions in mind as we move forward, but until then, don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to discuss this further.

Regards,
Celebration Suites Management

I was worried by the other reviews. Yes it was very dated but it was clean - no rats, bugs or anything else (we were in Block F) !!!

Good location not too noisy at all in our block (we asked to be placed a little further away from Old Town and the 192 road).

There was a shuttle service but it was a bit of a free for all on the returns back to the hotel - forget queueing (it was every man for themselves!!!). Lynx bus stops just outside though.

Didnt realise till we checked out that you could hire a toaster/kettle - we did hire the dishes/cutlery though at abt $13.

Reception staff helpful.

Excellent base for all the parks with plenty of restaurants around the hotel.

Our driver for the taxi home was amazed at how improved Celebration Suites were - but obviously certain areas do need a lot of modernisation - however as I said, it was clean and a good base for Disney. Would definitely return :-)
