“Great place for a trip to Disney!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2012

We stayed here for the first time for 5 nights, 8/21/12 through 8/26/12. Although it is a timeshare, we indicated at check in that we were not interested, and we did not receive any pesky calls on our vacation. (I actually told them not to call my cell unless it truly was an emergency, because I was on vacation! I guess they listened.) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were spacious and clean, and we enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen and sitting on the balcony. The pool was also clean, and the bartenders were great. The food, which is only served at poolside, was decent. There are also pool-side activities and music, making for an enjoyable time. We enjoyed the short nature/board walks. In one direction, you come out near another hotel, over water, and there are lots and lots of ducks, turtles and fish and there is fish food there for a very minimal fee. With such a busy life at home, we truly enjoyed our time just hanging out and feeding the animals and hearing the nearby fountain. Very relaxing. The other boardwalk goes straight to a strip center with several different restaurants and a small supoer market. We ate at Nick's Famous BBQ and Kobe's Japanese Steakhouse during our stay. We were not impressed with the market. It was dirty and cramped, and none of the staff we encountered was interested in being there. It is convenient, which is about all that can be said about it.

And if you want convenience...it is located off thre first exit as you leave Disney property, making for a quick trip, and also easy access to I-4 to go on further into Orlando or travel to Lego Land or Tampa.

We definitely would go back to Parkway International Resort again!

Welcoming staff, lovely apartment. Pool was adequate and staff were very accomodating. Not keen on the karaoke on Thurs but that's personal preference. Kids club lady very good. Apartment comfortable and well equipped. Really nothing bad to say lovely holiday!

This is an older Time Share Resort that has been updated. Great for families! We had our grown kids and 1 grandson for a few days and they had a great time. Later in the week my brother and his wife joined us for a few days and were pleased with the experience. It is definitely not top of the line so if you are a snob and need fancy go somewhere else but if you are coming to relax and/or see whats around Kissimmee this place will certainly do.
Skip the Time Share tour. We did it for the prepaid card but they knew up front we were not interested in an overpriced unit at a nearby resort that looked like an upgraded prison. For an hour and a half it's not bad with little pressure to buy. Just say NO!

Room Tip: The 2nd BR is 2 singles and a bit small.

When we arrived at the Parkway International on Aug 18, 2012 I was worried that it would be a rundown worn-out timeshare. This is an older property and there are no elevators. They charge $30 to use the WiFi for the week, but if you fill out an Interval International survey they only charge $10.
I was originally assigned a 3rd floor unit, but requested to be on the second floor and the check-in staff gladly obliged. The staff here are very friendly. When we got into our room I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well kept up everything was. The master bedroom is huge as is the the master bath with it's obligatory Jacuzzi. The master bed is very comfortable, but the twin beds in the second bedroom are a little less so. The curtains do betray the age of the resort. The living room has a large flat screen TV and the bedrooms have older sets, but work well. The kitchen has new appliances all around. Our unit had a back door that led down to the pool; talk about convenient. There are plenty of activities like karaoke, $1 bingo, music and tye-dye during the day around the pool, and it was never over crowded.

The resort is located just off 192, one stop light from I4. You can be inside any of the Disney parks except Magic Kingdom in 15 mins.

We have stayed here several times, most recent Aug. 2012. The condos are large, and clean. The staff is great. All the parks, Disney, Sea World, and Universal are close to the condos. Disney is literally less than a mile away. The local grocery store, Publix, is also less than a mile away. There are discount outlet malls several miles away. There is a bar next to the pool which serves food and drinks. The pool is clean and perfect. The resort is also located in an area where you have easy access to either East or West coasts of Florida, both an hour to two hour drive in either direction ,Via I4 or the toll ways. Only thing I disagreed with was the extra charge for wireless internet access.

Room Tip: Bring your car or rent a car. There is no public transportation, and the taxis are expensive!!!

My family of 8 stayed at Parkway International from Aug. 3-10. Stayed in Building G, top floor.

I really like the location of this resort, it's very close to all the Disney parks (which is the only thing we do while in Orlando since we have annual passes). This is literally within walking distance to Kobe Japanese steakhouse which we seem to go every time we are here. Kids love it!
We stayed at High Point Resort on the other side of the highway which I have also written a very detailed review on. I prefer this end of the highway than the one Parkway was located, but its just a personal preference.

It was super inconvenient to be on the third floor when moving in for a week. With 5 kids staying for a week, you can imagine we had a lot of luggage. Rooms are overall nice, clean with lots of room for everyone to have their own space. The one weird thing is, there isn't a nightstand in the master bedroom. I always keep my cell phone and charger on my nightstand and found it super uncomfortable to get it off the floor. This resort is over 20 years old, but you can tell the owners try to keep up the appearances.

Kitchen was fully equipped. The only complaint is there wasn't a garbage disposal which got kinda tricky. The laundry area was right off the kitchen which was convenient for me (I could do laundry while cooking so not too much walking back and forth).

Now onto the reason I rated it Average v. Above Average. We set the temp. to 75 going to bed and set it to 71-72 when we go to the park. When we woke up on the 5th day, it was 76 and despite lowering the temperature to 71 it stayed at 76 for 4 hours. I finally called maintenance around 11 AM. To make a real long story short, the maintenance people and the AC people Parkway contracts out was in and out of our room from 11-7. My husband and I had to be in the room at one point or another so they can try to figure out whats going on. We pretty much had to give up one day of our vacation. Luckily, the kids enjoyed the pool area.

I called the front desk around 5:30. The good: We got a new room. The bad: It was in the end of the same building so we had to haul all our things three flights of stairs and up three flights of stairs again. *GROAN*

While we were finishing up dinner, the maintenance guy came and what appeared to be the head maintenance guy. He kept telling us the issue is fixed and we won't have any problems, ironically enough the temperature went up to 79 at this point. My husband and I distinctively got the feeling he was trying to talk us out of moving to the other room. I called the front desk and let them know we were moving and the guy trying to talk us out of it was futile. I didn't want to risk coming back from the park the next day to 100 degree room.

If not for this big inconvenience, I probably would have rated it Above Average. The garbage area was right next to the parking lot so you didn't have to go in search of it like other places I've stayed. The bathroom shower facility is updated and very nice.

Publix next to Walgreens just down the street is very close and very busy no matter what time of the day you go. I felt perfectly safe going there with my 8 year old son on 10 PM Friday night v. Tuesday morning. But if you are looking for a big Disney themed shop area, try the one further up the road across from Target. They have a HUGE area for tourists to take back Disney themed gift section.

If you are from out of town and not familiar with Publix, check out their website for the weekly sales ad. Their sale goes from Wed. to Wed. unlike Sun. to Sun. A lot of their stuff is Buy one get one free so you can plan your meals around those deals and save money. It's buy one get one free and you have to get both to get the deal. You won't get half off the first item. In a pinch, definitely check out the Flippers pizza (the brochure is in your room).

If you run of any supplies for the room/kitchen, simply ask for more at front desk.

ParkwayManager, Manager at Parkway International Resort, responded to this review, 31 August 2012
Dear “AelSantokie,” The staff at Parkway International truly thanks you for taking the time to share your experience on Trip Advisor. We most certainly recall the problem you encountered with the AC in your unit. The reason it sticks out in our minds, is the difficulty we had trying to fix it! It’s very seldom that we’re unable to quickly repair an AC issue. It’s only during these rare occasions that we would recommend that one of our Guests relocate to another unit. It just so happens that the problem was a rather serious one. In fact we needed to install a new condenser and handler after your departure. You’ll be happy to learn that the system is working perfectly now. Knowing all this doesn’t change the fact that you and your family were inconvenienced during your vacation. We do hope you can accept our sincere apologies for this? You mentioned in your posting that if it weren’t for this inconvenience, you probably would have rated your experience “Above Average.” Should you give us another chance, we’re quite confident that the air conditioning in your unit will be working properly and your vacation will be everything you dreamed it would be. Thanks again “Aelsantokie” and we really do hope to see you again!

As an owner, I normally use my vacation week at Liki Tiki, which isn't far from Parkway International and includes a mini water park. This year we stayed at our home timeshare, Parkway. We initially had an issue with our ground level accommodations. The master bedroom sheets (dirty and dingy, hair and a small spider). We also had rowdy guests who "cackled" all throughout the night. The housekeeping and front desk staff, along with security, were very accommodating. We were able to get replacement bedsheets rather quickly and the next morning we were relocated to another higher level unit. Thanks to the front desk staff Shayna, Stacy and Sol, and to the security and housekeeping staff for exhibiting great customer service.
