star island resort has a wonderful pool, good food, plenty of parking, clean rooms, and didn't have screaming kids all over. We could stay there or take our day trips to a dinner theatre, disney, universal, etc. It's one of the most conveniently located resorts in kissimmee, main highway to disney, big grocery store 1 minute away, restaurants all over, it's just perfect. If I had to pick out a 'bad' thing, it would the karaoke every night in the outdoor lounge. I think the guy could turn it down because it doesn't have to reach the entire resort. Some nights it would have been nice not to here it. But we also went to the outdoor lounge twice and had drinks and food and enjoyed it. Bob and Doreen Viking, Portage, Wisconsin

Room Tip: we did top floor, we like top floors so there is no one stomping on the floor above us. we do top floors at all the resorts we stay at.

We stayed here for a few days over the holidays and brought in the New Year here as well. The 1st unit we were in was musty and damp smelling. Maybe because it was on the first floor. Also, it was a 1 bedroom deluxe. But you could only enter the bathroom through the bedroom...strange lool. We wanted friends to spend the night but we didn't want them walking through the bedroom where we were sleeping in the middle of the night yikes!!! But the moved us to a 1 bedroom deluxe in building 19. ONLY in building 19 can you enter the bathroom from the hallway. It was a much nicer and bigger unit. Our friends were able to spend 2 nights and we had fun!!! Bring your on cleaning products. I fekt a little more attention to detail was needed in the bathroom. I always travel with my cleaning supplies so I was fine. There is an awesome tub in the bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pool is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! Good bar too :)

Room Tip: Do not do a room on the first floor if you can help it.

My family and I visited this resort during Christmas week (2012) and had an ok time. The A B lock-off room was very spacious and nice! The only disappointment was, the free internet 'HOTAIR' didnt work half of the time, roaches and lots of ants!!! We could not leave food anywhere because the ants would take it over!!! We stayed at this resort only because of the Wyndham points we had to use.
We frequent Orlando a lot, so hopefully the next visit as far as the resort, will be a better experience!!!

The resort staff were extremely friendly and helpful in every regard. Check in staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. Natasha has a smile to brighten your day. We had an issue with our oven and the maintence team responded immediately.

Rooms were spotless and well equipped. Six of us shared a two bedroom suite and it was very roomy.

I would stay here again for sure. Although it is not a new resort...it is well maintained and updated. I loved the location and recommend staying here.

Used this resort for a Disney weekend family get-to-gether of nine. We got the three bedroom and found that it offered more than enough space if you don't mind two to a double bed. The third bedroom (efficiency as it has a kitchenette) has a couch that is a pull out bed, and my sister complained of having back problems in the morning. Other than that, the other beds were OK, if somewhat threadbare and not so comfortable, and the rest of the accommodations pleasant and nicely laid out though a bit dated. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glassware, pots, serving dishes, a colander, knives and forks etc., and the dining room table sat six comfortably, and nine using chairs from the bedrooms. The whole unit was pleasant and spacious, though I would have prefered an upper floor so that we could utilize the balcony and open the windows and sliding glass doors (there was a pervasive smell of a cleaning chemical or air freshner). The surrounding property, pool, lake, gated entrance, and reception area are really quite beautiful, and the staff responsive and friendly. I would definitely stay there again and look forward to another family get away there.

Room Tip: Get an upper floor, but make sure that the building has an elevator if you have kids or elderly.
