My wife and I were planning a surprise birthday party at one of the theme parks. So as you can imagine, money was already tight. So we decided to book here as per the reviews pretty much placed this hotel at an average rate. Please read this carefully so you don't make the same mistake we did. First, after booking we tried contacting the hotel to make sure everything was set for our arrival. No one picked up the phone the first six (6) attempts. We ended up calling the 1-800 line who gave us the same number to call as we have been trying. Then, they gave us another number to call which ended up being some other hotel. After a few other attempts a couple of days later, we finally got through. Everything was set. So, I though maybe this was going to be the only issue with the hotel. I have never being so wrong before. When we arrived, I drove around the hotel to get better a look while it was still daylight. With the exception of poor lighting, everything seemed fine from the outside. As we checked in, the front desk girls were very nice and polite. They were presentable and had good communication skills. We received two room key cards. As we got to our room, that's when we found out that one of the key cards was not working. No big deal. We were not going to be separated so, one key will suffice. As we entered our room, it had a very distinct smell. Till this day, I cannot say what it was. Beds were decent and clean. TV was very out dated. I mean, very out dated. The entertainment center housing the TV was in rough shape. It looked as if it was bought at a thrift store. No problem, we were not there to watch TV. There was a small 1.8 cu. ft. refrigerador. Probably more than enough for us. Right above thay, there was a small outdated microwave. It looked scary so we did not used it. There was no coffee machine. Iron and ironing board were neatly placed. As I tried to enter the restroom, I noticed that the door was actually slightly bigger than the door frame. Yes, it was stuck. That was an issue for us as we have a 4 year old that may need to used the restroom in the middle of the night. Also, commode was too close to door. If anyone tried opening the door while someone was on the commode, watch your knees. The floor in restroom and tub was in pretty bad shape. I wanted to take showers with shoes on. It looked as if this room was at one point a smoking room and all of that cloud of smoke got embedded on to floor. Walls were painted with brush as you can still see the brushes hair lines on the wall. The door hinges were rusted and they tried to cover it up with paint. Ceiling had mold stains around the light and the light was burning its cover. The tub was covered with what it looked to be a cheap rubbermaid tub cover. One of those that you can use to put over top of your tub. Yes, one of those. The soap holder was pealing apart. The tub floor felt as if the bought the cover one size bigger and was raised in middle. Shower head was loose and discolored and its face plate was off the wall. The pair job throughout the room was done by an amateur as ceiling color were on the walls and wall color were on the ceiling. There was also a work station which I thought it was nice. Problem is that there was only one (1) outlet. If you are planning to do business, hopefully you will be at a nicer hotel but if this is it, make sure you bring an outlet switch so you can plug in you laptop, cell, and any other equipment you may need. Yes, they have a computer in lobby but nothing beats doing work from the confort of your room. Better with a cup of coffee but no coffee pot in room. The AC unit had its face cover broken so rattles through the night, a lot. It did worked well as far as temperature. It was also very loud. Between my wife and I, we killed six (6) roaches during our stay. Bring roach spray if you are planning on staying here. While we're gone during the day, we intentionally left the blinds closed as to protect our valuables in room. Maid left blinds open after she finished cleaning our room. Also, the door lock was a little wobbly. This hotel is pretty much what it is. A cheap stay. Pool area and Tiki bar were kept nicely. There was also a kids play ground area. With they way our room was, maybe the poles holding this play area together were also rusted and painted over. My kids are not test subjects so did not tried. Then on top of that, they have the courage to charge a resort fee. I've stayed at better paited, roach free hotels and paid no resort fee. Over all, it was a somewhat nice little (thank God) stay and we got what we paid for. So it is what it is. Oh, almost forgot; there is a gentleman in the lobby advertising for their new hotel who will give cash ($) for just checking them out plus a free breakfast, please stay away from him if you are in a time table. After talking this man over and over that we were on a time table he kept on insisting. I agreed for the second day. What he does not tells you us that in order to get you cash, you must go through a two (2) hour tour. Which means, if you are visiting one of the theme parks, it will be close to 12:30 before you make it.
