We booked our stay due to a review on this site- hope you will, too!
I agree with the other reviewers. I loved the bit of England we experienced- Heather related info on English customs- they really do eat beans at a full English breakfast! The breakfast was cooked to order- you can have anything ( and everything on the menu) Perfect poached eggs (not easy to do!) Always a fruit salad, muffins, cereal on hand.
Ours was the captains room: firm, comfortable, bed, our own deck with table and chairs,
not much storage space for luggage, the cold water on the jacuzzi needed fixed, beautiful flowers and grounds. We were able to look at the other rooms; I would not pay extra for our jacuzzi, but it was the only room available a time of booking.
I highly recommend this Inn. We stayed in 4 places in our week in the Orlando area and this is a favorite. You will also enjoy strolling around the peaceful town of Lake Helen with its interesting Southern architecture. My husband struck up a conversation with one of the neighbors; it's a friendly town.

We were initially looking for an accommodation around Orlando and all the hotspots around but we were happy we eventually found this unique accommodation online.

This place is ideal if you want to escape from Mickey's big ears. The place is a 45 minute drive north from Orlando downtown, (I95 and take exit 116). Stunning setting with lake overview and very peaceful. We got to see some nice birdlife.
We were warmly welcomed by English hosts Heather and Phil,
they've given us advise on local in and arounds, out and abouts. Acutally around isn't much to see, the closest real attraction would be the Manatee Blue spring state park ( 20 minute drive).

Our room, the Island room, was extremely clean, fairly huge and overlooking the garden and lake. Tea, coffee, kettle, hair dryer, alarm, TV (with a lot of channels!), fan were available in the room. The Bathroom was also very spacious and nicely decorated. The worst in the room is the mattress, a bit worn, this should certainly be replaced. Not a problem if you like this kind of mattress, this is actually a pain in a lot of B&B's. Hotels get a revamp every now and then, this is not always the case in a privatly owned property.

The breakfast was great, we could choose from a menu. We took some buttermilk pancakes. There's also fresh fruit, cereals, breakfast muffins... Since the hosts are British, you can also get yourself a real English Breakfast.

In terms of price/quality, this is very good value, the hosts can even pick you up from the airport. This property is ideal for people who love a romantic, quite and peaceful setting away from the Disney machine.

My husband and I just returned from a weekend get-away at Cabin on the Lake Bed & Breakfast in Lake Helen, Florida. This was our first stay at a bed & breakfast inn and what luck to have chosen Cabin on the Lake. The location and setting was absolutely beautiful and so perfect for a relaxing weekend. Our room, which offered a private full bath, was called the Island Room decorated with seashells and palm trees with a great view of the lake. Our hosts, the owners, Heather & Phil Lindsay, are wonderfully warm & friendly. An English style breakfast is included but afternoon tea and evening dinner is also available. If relaxing is what you are after, you can stroll around the lake, canoe or horse back ride or Heather & Phil will arrange for a relaxing massage. Locally, there are the towns of Cassadega and Deland for daily excursions. We had a great experience and highly recommend Cabin on the Lake either to just kick back for a weekend or as a place to stay if you are doing the whole Orlando thing. Thank you, Heather & Phil, it was lovely.
