“Excellent meal, a little pricey but excellent.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

We visited again for my birthday with a group of 6 ppl; I had the seafood pasta special which was truly amazing. the sauce, the seafood, everything was prepared perfectly. Others had the osso bucco special; not so good. A little more like stewed m,eat they said; not what they expected. The wine was good, the service was very attentive but a little "involved." Seemed rushed as well; would have liked to sit and visit for a bit but restaurant was busy and we left. Excellent food though I think I prefer the more casual location in Lake Mary. Smaller but a little different menu; very reasonable.

“Nice salads and pizza tasty but....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

The pizza margherita advertised FRESH mozzarella tomato sauce and fresh basil. There were two small pieces of fresh basil in a large pizza and the mozzarella was not fresh. It was regular mozzarella you can find in any pizzeria, not the kind found in pizza margherita that is creamier and higher quality usually kept in water. For $15.50 I expected the real deal.
But for the area it is a good choice overall. Salad was good and pasta dishes also satisfactory. We did not try dessert.

“Mixed feelings...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

Our overall experience was mixed, with excellent service, and a small but nice outside seating (under big umbrellas).

The menu looked to be good, though one of the desired appetizers (fried smelt) was (and had been) unavailable for 18 months (according to our server), as the supplier of the smelts (from Lake Tahoe) was out of business. The server noted that people had been told the smelts were "out of season" (for the past 18 months!), but we got the straight story...

The wine list was abbreviated, slightly expensive (lowest bottle @ $38, most much more...), but adequate.

The fried calamari appetizer was properly done, perhaps ever so slightly over-salted (unusual for me to say, as I like salty!), with a nice marinara sauce.

The brick oven is gas-fired, so the pizza was not quite as good as if wood sourced, but the crust was nicely done, flavorful, and probably as good as available in this area. Sauce was good, the salumi used spicey and just a tad greasey, so the pizza was 4* out of 5*s.

The lasagna Bolognese was a loose (collapsed on the plate), but with very good flavor.

“Yummy Dinner, Limited Seating”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

Went here for a dinner one night while staying in area. Arrived about 6:30 pm on a Thursday night, was a little busy but had a table in about 5 minutes. Tables were very crowded together, but the server was attentive. Just a little noisy and hard to understand him with his thick accent. This was due to noise, not him. The food was excellent.

“Authentic Southern Italian”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2014

Pizza is very close but not exactly like Naples , Italy. The pizza sauce is good. The Salamino pizza is outstanding. It is the best pizza in Central Florida. The pesto sauce is awesome. The northern italian dishes like the chicken Milanase is tasteless. Pasta dishes are a hit and miss. Most of the pasta dishes can easily be made at home.
Service is not good and not consistant. Sometimes the server cares and is helpful. Sometimes the servers do not look as if they care about their customers.
The manager needs to know the place is popular only because of the food. The service at times is pitiful and servers are arrogant and uncaring. They do not admit thier mistakes nor take responsibility.
Warning: not a good place to take kids.
I am suspicious of other positive reviews.
