The campground has large sites with lots of beautiful palms and live oak trees. The staff is absolutely wonderful...making sure their guests are satisfied and having lots of fun. Plenty of activities to join in if you choose to. The entire park is kept very clean. We spent the entire winter at Thousand Palms Resort and will definitely return again and again! Highly recommend this park for either a short stay or long winter stay!

We tried this rv resort for the first time this past may. It is outstanding and the management is just about the best we've encountered. We would highly recommend this resort to everybody and we are looking forward to return as soon as possible. Just can't say enough about the great management!

The residents love thousand palms. The location is an hour or two from both coasts (Atlantic and Gulf). There are many activities both at the resort and in the Central Florida area. You can enjoy scenic drives and recreation. Enjoy a bike ride or mountain bike ride, motorcycle ride, horseback ride. Go scuba diving. There is an abundance of wild life and natural Florida beauty. Many parks..and many acres devoted to wild life. Many movie stars and some recording stars own houses or horse farms nearby. You can get a season pass to Silver Springs for $45 ..and enjoy concerts (country and rock) several times a year, halloween nights, Holiday lights, water park or the regular park with glass bottom boats, some friendly animals. Nearby Rainbow Park has some small waterfalls, a nice springs, good walks and christmas lights.

There are "social clubs" that welocme you that post actvities. They are part of "Meet-up".
I was attending a function..when I ran into Thousand Palms folks as they were kayaking the Rainbow River. The folks from Thousand Palms extended every courtesy to me and welcomed me to join their group. They treated me, a complete stranger...very well. They helped me get in and out of my kayak..invited me to join their group, invited me to join them at lunch..and Phil even bought me a soda. (He said because I helped him carry his kayak up the ramp). What a great group of folks. I enjoyed spending time with them.

From every indication I got and talking to a lady RVer who stayed at the site four months..this is a great RV park, with excellent management, lots of activities...and very nice people. My feeling is..when the management are nice to complete strangers...just because that is how they are...THAT says a lot. Want a fun friendly helpful group? Check out Thousand Palms.

We enjoyed our stay immensely at Thousand Palms RV Resort. From the moment we arrived,we were well treated and our presence appreciated. The resort is in new hands. The new owner is taking measures as fast as he can to upgrade the infrastructure as well as the overall experience.

The park was formerly primarily a snow bird, park-model type of rv resort. Many of the park models have been removed. The result is much larger than average RV sites. Our site must have been 50' wide. Not all sites are that wide, but the majority are wider than average.

If you are social, there are many events, potlucks, games, etc. If you prefer time to yourself, the park is next to a boat ramp with picnic area. Park is large enough with several trails to get a good walk. Location is close enough to get to the madness and far enough away for peace and quiet.

This was a nice campground, however not one I would ever pay the regular rate of $50 per night. It's nice, not that nice. You can get the same or better for $30 all over the area. Really located in the middle of nothing, although the towns of Inverness and The Villages are not too far and there is some good shopping available. Staff if very nice but ownership does not seem to know where they are going with the place. Bathrooms were very clean or horrible, never knew what you would find. Schedule rotates and does not always happen as planned. Pot lucks are very early to accommodate the older crowd who lives on site on a permanent basis. A perfect spot for people who want total quiet after about 7:00 and want to sleep at 8PM. A good place to live, maybe not visit. Pretty boring, but they try. Pool is heated but not working when we were there. Laundry is nice but only two washers and although four dryers, only 3 really worked. Dog friendly for sure but many don't pick up after their pets. Trash dumpster is way off the beaten path and a pain to dump waste. Staff animals seem to run free which is not good. The boat tour (extra cost) is worth it IF you go first trip in the morning - after that the gators are not around. If they improve and/or reduce rates, i'd go back but not for more than about 2 nights max.
