Lakeside Village is a rather new village-style retail, dining, and movie theater center with short, walkable streets, Belk's, Kohl's, a Cobb multiplex movie theater with Imax, and a number of restaurants (including a beer place with live entertainment across the street from the hotel, meaning you might possibly prefer a room on the hotel's back side if you'd like things a bit quieter). The area was pretty busy on the Saturday evening that I visited. The theater is new and quite good.
Breakfast offerings are the usual, including juice, yogurt, milk, make-them-yourself waffles, bread items, cereal, fruit, and scrambled eggs. Coffee seems available in the breakfast area or lobby at all times. There's a small business center, exercise room with aerobic machines and a pool. Weather was too cool and drizzly to check it out, but pool towels were available at the back door.
My room (top floor, front, facing the beer place) was fine with minimal wear or tear, apart from loose ceramic tiles near the toilet. Towels, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, soaps, shampoo, and whatnot were all in their places. The bathroom sink had a nice light-colored granite countertop.
The featured freshly-washed duvet on the bed (nearly white, rather than the usual hotel stain-hiding multi-color) was a nice feature.
The location off Polk Parkway is convenient. Restaurants in the shopping center include Mexican (Abuelo's), Vietnamese, fish, grill, Mongolian, and more.More
