Went there the last 3 times were terrible. Think that was it. Three strikes and you are out. First my guest ordered a steak med. rare 16 ounce and when it came out it was 3/8 of an inch thick., well done, and with a potato in tin foil, and soggy string beans. Not good. Complained and they said nothing was wrong. Next time I ordered the duck. Well done, dry and the rest was unsatisfactory. The last time my date wanted to try it for Thanksgiving as my Mom was in the Hospital and she heard the adds that said,"The best meal you will ever eat'. THEY LIED!!! The Turkey was cold and soggy and was almost shredded. The potato was cold and in tin foil. The string beans were from a can as they were soggy, tasteless, and cold. Gourmet? DON'T THINK SO!!!!

Seems we only go there with a family group for a birthday, mother's day etc. The food is good. It is great to get all the family together and have a great meal.

Ever since we started wintering in Leesburg Florida, Vic's Embers has been our favourite restauarant for every special occasion and even for non occasions. We have celebrated birthday's, anniversaries and even picked up a fabulous Christmas Day dinner. The Sunday brunch is unrivaled. The atmosphere is great and with music and dancing on weekends it becomes a full night of dining and dancing. Casual to elegant attire is acceptable and you feel comfortable. Service has usually been excellent and especially when we were able to get our favourite server. We have highly recommended Vic's to our friends and taken many there with us and in the past would have given it top ratings in all categories. The food is incredibly good and there is a huge variety and selection.

However suddenly in the last short month or so something has happened. Our favourite server is no longer there, the other staff seem preoccupied and snooty. The table linens are frayed, the seats worn, cleanliness has declined, and the dinner appears rushed. Where we used to be able to have dinner then go relax in the bar to listen to the music and dance we can no longer be served dessert there. Apparently now they will serve appetizers but not entrees or desserts in the bar. We don't understand this as we thought by clearing our table it was available for other guests and would give us time to have a dance and digest to make room for dessert and a last drink.
Hopefully this is an anomaly that will be solved quickly but it sure makes us hesitate where we used to rush to get there.

Needs some remodeling, its very dark and gloomy inside. The food is OK and a lot is very heavy with sauces and butter.
