We enjoyed our stay at Edgewater very much. The building was literally on the water. It was clean and had everything that we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Two small caveats: We were underway on the heritage bike trail and our only means of transportation were our bicycles. When we arrived we had hoped to go out to eat near the premises but learned that the closest possibility to get supper was a general store a couple of miles down the road. This is a good thing to know beforehand if you have limited mobility. With a car it would have been no problem. Other issue: we were looking forward to an evening of watching the sea and ship lights after sunset, however, as soon as it got dark out, a huge spotlight went on right next to our suite so we had no possibility of enjoying the seascape since we were blinded by the overdone lights. It also totally illuminated our suite making it very difficult to sleep. A suggestion would be to have small, individual lights next to each balcony door which would only illuminate that part of the porch used by the suite resident and could be turned off if desired. Other than that, Edgewater was a lovely little lodge. One very positive thing: the lodge has resisted the trend to nail windows shut and force lodgers use loud air-conditioners. We had the door open with screen closed and it was wonderful, especially being over the water.
