“Best food”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

We found this place advertised in one of the table books where we were staying in Siesta Key. Put the address into the GPS and it took us over some small waterways, past shops and some fantastic homes. It was well worth the trip, 15 minutes or so really, not so far away.

We had our choice of sitting dock side, covered but open walled section or the enclosed air conditioned area. The view of the waterways are nice. I would say, probably terrific at night with the city lights in the background. The rooms were very nicely decorated.

I had the spicy crab and corn chowder and my wife had the New England Fish Chowder. Both were super, very tasty, very fresh.

For lunch I had the Grouper Taco platter, while my wife had the Shrimp Taco platter. The fish was very fresh and delicious. They were served with black beans and rice. Price each was under $20.00. It was a great price for a great meal.

The service was very attentive. Always asking if we needed anything or more water.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area, you will not be disappointed. I would return there tomorrow.

“Breath taking view, great food, on Long Boat Key.... Doesn't get much better”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We moved to Sarasota 9 months ago....our realtor gave us a "bucket list" of restaurants,we should go to. The Dry Dock was on that list, but was closed for remodeling. It is now open and better than ever.

We went there for a Saturday lunch. Being a warm day, we chose indoor upstairs dining. The setting is amazing with a 270degree view of beautiful Sarasota bay. The restaurant is adjacent to a marina which gives you the pleasure of watching boats and the pelicans which frequent the docks.

We both ordered the grilled grouper sandwich which come with a sauce which puts the traditional to shame. The portion of grouper was generous and cooked perfectly. After our visit, we were told that the chowder is outstanding which will warrant a very near term re-visit.

One note for first time visit, park on the left side of the marina, the restaurant entrance is not that obvious, but just walk straight back.

“Great setting, Great Food”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Arrived around 6pm on a Thursday and waited about 20 minutes for a 5-top (they crammed my family of five around a table better suited for 2-3 but we made do.) The outdoor setting was fantastic, especially with a large rainbow that crept out of the cloud line above the bay. Started with some steamed shrimp and they were huge, if not a little underspiced for my taste. Had the grouper sandwich and it came with a side of a sweet chili sauce. A little hesitant at first, but it was delicious with the blackened grouper. A couple nice craft beers on tap and a full bar upstairs while you wait for your table. Service was attentive and all smiles. Will definitely go back.

“Love this place”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

We visited with a large group in late June 2014. They really went out of their way to accomodate us. We ended up outside at a couple of tables that they put together for us. The views are fantastic. The service is always good here. We get down to the area a couple of times a year and never miss the Dry Dock on our visits.

“Must try”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

You must try this place! A little hard to find, but there are some beautiful views. We had lobster tacos, grouper sandwich, fried shrimp, crab cakes and key lime pie. All of which were excellent. One of those menus where it's hard to find something that isn't good. Prices are very reasonable too and a great place for the family.
