This was the second time in as many years we have been back to the idyllic, Gulf-front family-friendly Wicker Inn on Longboat Key. The Inn is "old Florida' at its finest, complete with wicker rockers on each suite's front patio/porch. The Inn and its private Gulf of Mexico beach will provide days and days of total relaxation for you and your family. Beach loungers are lined up each morning on their private beach, and you can leave your chairs out at water's edge the entire day and put back after Sunset. The Wicker Inn provides beach towels, although you may want something more absorbant. The pool is comfortably heated and quite ample in size. There are plenty of poolside beach loungers to catch some rays while you watch the kiddos splash and play. The foliage surrounding the pool area is stunning, but just a 'heads up' for the beautiful bouganvilla (purple-red flowers) vines as they have needle-like thorns. You may not ever need to or want to leave the Inn! All the suites and the one cottage on the property surround the pool, (accessible only through latched gates). The rooms are tastefully and adequately appointed, with tile flooring throughout, and beachy themes in the colorful artwork and art scuptures. The open concept kitchen and living area is well stocked with full sized coffee maker, full sized fridge and top freezer with icemaker, and all the basic cooking essentials to enjoy mealtime in paradise. The Inn has a beautiful covered gazebo with a cute tin roof right at the pool's edge to enjoy some meals with your family. There are charcoal grills to cook up the day's fresh catch, or grill up your faves from the Longboat Key Publix. A thoughtful addition is the outdoor shower sandwiched between the beach and the suites. Shower off the beach sand and jump back into the pool! Ahhhh. Feel like a kid again:)
The suites have all been recently and tastefully remodeled. You and your family will appreciate tile flooring throughout your suite. Head's up to an elevation drop (step down) upon entering the first bedroom in the Morning Glory suite. Each of the three bedrooms has cable TV, not that you will be watching any TV with views like the Wicker Inn boasts. There is also cable TV in the large open concept living area. A nice amenity that was used daily and sometimes multiple times, was the free use of the laundry room... complete with a full sized washer and dryer. Be sure to bring your bikes, as the Longboat Key trail (and the bike lane) is a favorite for locals (and visitors alike). If you are desiring a vacation from a couple days to a couple weeks (or longer), consider the Wicker Inn. You will find Rest, you will be Restored, and Rejuvenated. Save $ by cooking (or microwaving) in your room and eating poolside, beachfront, or in the Gazebo... instead of dining out. You will have no need to ever leave the island of Longboat Key. Everything you could want or need, is right here, in this sliver of Paradise.

Room Tip: The Sunflower 2bed/2bath suite is the closest suite to the beach. You are mere steps away from the surf.

We just spent a few days here with our family and another family. It was perfect! Great location! The Inn is very clean, quiet, well maintained, and fully kitted out for visitors. They have a great pool and for the beach - chairs and umbrellas are provided. The beach was not only beautiful but very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend!

We spent the week of the 4th of July at the Wicker Inn. All the conveniences of home. It was like visiting family. Only 11 units in all so it was quiet, like you had your own house on the beach. It was easy to meet your neighbors and chat with your neighbors, most of whom have been staying there annually for 10+ years. Truly the best place to stay on Longboat Key.

We have visited this inn on many occasions and it never disappoints .Good clean accommadation in a stunning location with beautiful grounds and restaurants across the road .Lissie and her team help with questions but never intrude on your privacy. .Already looking forward to our next visit in October

Room Tip: We prefer the rooms away from the road overlooking the pool

For twenty years we have stayed at Clearwater Beach but it is now fairly crowded so decided to move further south. From the outside the Inn looked neat and tidy so we booked a weeks vacation in the two bedroom Bougainville Cottage. Well we were so impressed not only by the cottage but also the location to the beach that the next day we booked a second week. This place is an absolute gem and Lissy in the office was so friendly and helpful we couldn't ask for more. The beach was just 60 paces away and reminded us of Clearwater Beach many years ago as it was quiet and gave the impression of being private as there were never more than eight people on it at any one time. I don't like leaving a review that is too glowing but I really cannot think of anything to complain about so there it is. This was a relaxing untroubled vacation and yes we will be going back.
