Excellent stay in a fantastic townhouse on the Cedars tennis resort. The resort is close to beach access and some great restaurants (recommend the Blue Dolphin for breakfast) and is a short drive to St Armands Circle and Sarasota.

Unit 618 is a comfortable town house with all your holiday needs including a wide screen TV, internet, views of the tennis courts, and loads of room for the family, really enjoyed the stay, will will definietely be back next year.

We have just returned from our Florida vacation at which we stayed at the Cedars tennis resort on the lovely Longboat Key. We stay at condo 539 which is privately owned and was booked through VacationRentals.com - Rental Inquiry Property #12953, you deal with the owner direct. This was a very well appointed condo and well kept, it had every thing we needed. The resort it self is all centered around tennis of course of which none of my family play, we picked the Cedars because of location, the pool, fishing dock, bike rentals and much more. Just because it's a tennis resort doesn't mean you have to play tennis. The resort itself is well maintain and relaxing and in easy reach of all the shops and restaurants, but the resort does have it's own. All in all a very nice place.

We stay at the Cedars tennis resort almost every year. We like the apartment with the spacious kitchen, the balcony facing the water and the spacious bedrooms.
The slight disadvantage of staying there, is that the beach is not easily reached by foot, since the owners of the waterfront properties forbid any trespassing.
But no more than 10 minutes of driving and you are at the most wonderful beach, where almost every day a school of dolphin passes by (around noon).

Had a very pleasant stay at Cedars Tennis Resport. The new upgrades move the resort into a world-class facility with a full-service restaurant and bar and a poolside Tiki Bar. Lots of fun activities, kayaks, bicycles, fitness facility and tennis, tennis, tennis. Excellent golfing is nearby. We stayed at 607, right in the midst of the tennis and poolside activities. This is a great, up-to-date home that was very comfortable with full amenities. Shopping and tourist activities in Sarasota are wonderful. A world-class city in a beautiful, small package. Can't wait to return and find out what else is new!

We stayed at Cedar's East Tennis Resort during Christmas with our dog. It seems like the resort is divided into 3 sections. Section 1 is the main area where the tennis courts are located together with the Club House and swimming pool. I understand that no dogs are allowed in this section, but they are allowed in the other 2 sections. The tennis courts were busy and there was a lot of coming and going around the pool. We stayed in Section 2 which was very quiet and was perfect for us because it's just a 1 minute walk to get to the swimming pool, and 2 minutes to get to the beach. The house that we stayed in was number 539 and had been recently updated. There was a jacuzzi bath in the master bathroom and the house bathroom had a lovely rain shower with glass enclosure. The furniture and decoration was very chic and modern. There is a great restaurant 2 minutes walk away called Euphemia Haye which we highly recommend. There is also a bike rental store, convenience store called Harry's, breakfast cafe also called Harry's, art studio, bank, dry cleaner, etc all within a 5 minute walk. There is also a nature park called Durante which you can walk your dog and you can also paddle on the beach. I would recommend Cedar's to anyone looking for a nice, quiet time close to the beach who like to be independent and travel with your dog.

Whilst the resort facilities are adequate and on the whole good (although our accomodation was 'tired' as regards the decor)- we did feel very annoyed by the very deliberate policy of the tennis desk to 'bounce' us out of our court arrangements (on several occasions) in favour of the full time members and large group members. We were offered alternative times towards the middle of the day which were unsuitable because of the heat or it left us little time to go out sightseeing etc due to the early darkness at this time of year.

On one occasion we were informed as we arrived to play that our court had been cancelled because the opponents we were to play had cancelled us. On meeting up with the opponents later that day they told us that no such thing had happened.

They along with another couple who related similar experiences were very angry at this seemingly deliberate policy of 'bouncing' by the tennis desk and as with us will not be returning to your resort.

Considering that this resort is in direct competition with the Colony Tennis resort along the road (alas closed at the moment) the general feeling amongst couples we met was-'can't wait for the Colony to re-open!!!!

Also considering that the cost of our stay with you for the 11 days amounted to a healthy proportion of an annual tennis membership fee, I cannot understand why this policy should exist at all with regard to individual couples.

We have been and are frequent travellers to the States-several times each year playing tennis at resorts from the Carolina's to Nevada, Arizona, from California to Florida and this is the the first time in all those years that we have experienced this unpleasant and un-professional behaviour.

We come to the USA to play tennis and our tennis experience at Cedars was poor!!!!!!!!

I can see why this resort is not rated at all by 'Tennis Resorts Online'

This was our first trip to Longboat with our 3 young children. We really enjoyed having a nice size townhome to spread out in. Our unit was nicely decorated and clean. Unfortunately, the other family that we traveled with, were not too happy with their unit. It was pretty outdated. This is one drawback of having no uniformity that you would in a hotel. That said, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The tennis pro was terrific. The courts were very well kept. It truly is a tennis resort. The pool was a huge plus! It was so well kept. We look forward to returning.
