Owner description: The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County's #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

Beautiful area to walk by the water. Several restaurants to eat of have a snack. A little pricey but nice. Nice beach too. There are a lot of tourist stile shopping stores with souvenirs, clothes, wines, The best Cuban Coffee and hand-made cigars in the Tampa Bay area at Cuban Paradise

“Fun Way to Kill a Few Hours”

Some fun things to do. Almost always see dolphins, some good cheap beach stores, a great ice cream shop. Most of the restaurants are forgettable, but the pier is fun!

“A Little Bit of Everything”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

Just across the street from the Gulf of Mexico and right on the Inter coastal Waterway. Enjoy a drink and a meal at one of the restaurants on the boardwalk while you watch the dolphins swim. You can rent a jet ski, go on a fishing trip, or take the kids out on the pirate ship. There are many restaurants to chose from. National chains like Bubba Gumps and Hooters share the area with local places like The Friendly Fisherman and The Pirates Pub to name just a couple. There are food choices to satisfy everyone. When you get tired of the boardwalk and its shops and restaurants you can head to the main village to have a drink, shop for souveneirs , or the latest Tommy Bahama fashions. You will run into locals and tourists here with the occasional pirate siting. Good times for everyone and family friendly too.

“Nice variety of shops”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

John's Pass has a great variety of shops and eating choices. Lori's has a huge variety of soaps and bathing products. The goat soap is the best we have ever found. They have expanded their lines and you will need to close your eyes and walk away from their excellent selections of bath and relaxing products.
The variety food and gifts are unique to the areas. The have high end gifts as well as the usually beach fair. Just has carries a good variety of styles and prices. Their are nice jewelry shops and souvenirs shops. They have a great variety of specialty shops including wine, cigars, spices and leather.
