Went a couple of years ago. It's a very cool place to see raptors up close. Gotta like the work they do here to rehabilitate birds and release them back into the wild (when/if they are healthy enough to go back). Especially great to take children.

This is a top notch bird of prey rescue center operated by the Audubon Society. Admission is $5 per adult and $4 for kids under 12; under 4 are free. Center is nestled between Maitland and Eatonville in a residential outcrop. Don't let the area fool you though. The center is well insulated from the outside world and sits on the banks of Lake Sybellia.

When you come in you are immediately greeted by live bald eagles and they're huge and very much aware of your presence. During your visit, you'll see hawks, falcons, owls, and more. Some are in cages and some are just a few feet from you. The birds are so majestic and much more than you'd see on TV.

If you like animals, this place is a must. Bring a camera. The whole visit takes about an hour but it will be one of the most rewarding single hours of your life.

This center takes injured birds and if possible, rehabiliates them to return their natural setting. If that cannot be done it provides a protective environment for the birds to stay. A great place to view the birds and to learn about them. Educational programs and excellent videos. You can see eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, etc. Admission is $5 and they have a free parking lot nearby.

We only got to see 1 owl up close. The rest of the birds were in their cages at a distance. Some cages were empty. There was only 1 bald Eagle when we were there . I guess it's luck because many birds were gone when we went.

This was an absolutely fascinating place. All the birds are resue ones and some of which will be released back into the wild while others will live out their natural life there. Very well looked after and the staff are very professional and friendly. We were able to see some of the birds up close like Merlin the one eyed owl and Trouble who has a massive wing span but has damage to his beak. It is well worth a visit and amazing what you can actually learn there.
