“Trip from hel!”
Reviewed 26 April 2011

Title should explain. We show up to check in at this place and the office is a storage closet. The man n his wife are rude and disrespectful we went to see the room before we checked in and the fridge was nasty mold on wall hotel sits 5 feet from the major highway. When the owner told us his motel is voted most comfortAble in the keys we told them the mattresses were squeaking he and his wife told me i wAs A fat [-] ( their words ) . I 5'3 n weigh 145 pounds ( normal size ). I called to have my credit card cancel the payment cause visa said it was charged the owner screamed at me n told me thAt visa was lying. What a trip from hel! I told him we are the customer and his words , " i dont give a flying [-] about customers " we left he kept our money but we will dispute it through visa. O qnd the "lush gardens " is a banna tree i. have the owner on video. After we were threatned to be removed we went to another hotel. The hotel declined my card. Come to find out they charged my card 1300.00 ! I neverrr authorized thatttt! so long story short he kept callin us harassing us and we had to get the sheriffs department involved. Hotel moto should be " worst place on earth" Nothing around this place either looks like the only thing the have to offer in the area is for a prostitutes n drug houses

Made reservation and was told $115 per night cc accepted. Upon arrival was told if cc used price would be $410...$65 more for use of cc! Had to find local bank and get cash etc for original price.
Room was clean however wall mounted A/C was very noisy and constantly would go on and off with gargling noise.
Motel is right on Rt 1 with every car, truck, motorcycle, RV etc. making noise all night and all day long. Couldn't sleep well.
Left USB cable with phone charger in room. Called 1 hour down the road to ask if owner could send all at my cost including mail, packing, gas whatever and was bluntly told no! I was surprised and thought she was kidding. Asked again with same answer and told I could find one on Ebay! Still shocked at this ignorance and will find another motel on Ebay....very disappointed!

Right on Route 1, noisy all night. All upholstered surfaces stained, uncomfortable bed. We should have slept in the tent.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst touring the Keys. The hotel is recommended in guidebooks but it seems to have let itself go. The furniture is dated and the kitchen cutlery and crockery were too. The bathroom needed a refreh too. Good location but a disappointing stay.

The motel is facing the street, so no matter if you changed to another room further in the back, you'll still hear vehicles passing by throughout the night. Furthermore, there's no paved sidewalk and parking lot, so you'll have to physically carry your luggage in vs. rolling it.

Eleven of my friends and I were part of a relay race that ran from Miami to Key West and we needed a place to shower and rest our heads in between runners. The owner was very accommodating when I called him on the phone and explained the situation, stating that he’d leave us extra towels… his only request was that we were careful with our water use. We arrived to find clean rooms and extra towels and it was the perfect place for us to clean up and take naps. The Siesta isn’t some grand resort hotel, but it is the perfect place to stop and sleep if you are out all day enjoying yourself (as you should be in the Florida Keys). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the area just looking for a simple place to get some shuteye.
