We rented a boat and spent a few hours enjoying this lovely beach! Make sure to walk over to the gulf side for shells and waves. I wish I could have been there longer!

Definitely watch out for the prickly burrs that will get stuck in your feet as you walk near the brush area. All four of us had some in our feet at one point or another.

There is a food and beer boat that was there while we were there. Burgers for $7 and hot dogs for $5. Beer was $5 & I think that had some for less $ as well. It is a mom & pop kind of an operation with a grill on the boat. Nice people. They also sell snack like chips. I think they also had chicken & sausage on the menu.

There are no bathroom or other facilities on the island, so,plan accordingly!

Isle of Capri Marina recommended and provided good directions. We enjoyed the trip to Keewaydin Island and the time we spent there exploring, wading and picking up shells. it is an easy trip and fun to be out of the way. Seems to be popular and we understand why. We recommend for families of all ages.

Very private, inside - long narrow beach but on gulf side expansive beach. Gulf idle offers great shelling so bring a bag to carry your finds. Boaters tend to sit near their boats to keep an eye out. The channel is usually calm. Many boats on the weekends so be careful. Some are rented and the day captains aren't so experienced. Overall a nice getaway from taking your car to the beach.

Rented a boat out of Rase Marina. 30-minute run up to Keewaydin Island, with great direction from the staff at the marina. Beached on the back side of the island right in front of a walking trail, maybe 250 steps to the Gulf side of the island. Great shelling!! Very peaceful. My girls had a terrific few hours on the beach, then lunched at Snooks before returning boat to Rose Marina. Could have probably squeezed the whole thing in in half a day instead of the full day and saved $85 on boat rental fees.

This is a beautiful white sand island that must be reached by boat. The water is very clear, there are an abundance of shells, and tons of fish and dolphin playing off shore. I would have given this place a 5 star but they found a dead 6ft Burmese python on the island in Sept. I will revisit, but won't be as comfortable visiting the next time! Yikes!
